Renowyth
I'm about to start painting 14093: Finari, Crusaders Hero for a friend for a game. I want to try doing "white" enameled armor, and most likely some of the fabric will be white as well. My theory is to have linen white be my midtone. If I want to show that one is metallic/enameled and one is cloth, any suggestions to shadows and/or techniques to emphasize the difference? Accents will be in a yellow or orange (i.e. Tibetan monks robes), if that affects color choices. Thanks!
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted January 8, 2010 Moderator Share Posted January 8, 2010 Softer/wider highlights on the cloth, and you can do the blue/orange contrast by using linen white on the cloth and snow shadow/ghost white/pure white on the armor. Thanks, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Renowyth
Even better - a picture is worth a thousand words, etc.
psyberwolfe1
For the warm white I would use something in the ivory triad as the mid tone and for the cool white something like Snow Shadow MSP.
