Kataclysm
Here is my interpretation of the crusader. By far I think one of my best pieces so far. Just got a new camera so i hope to start posting some of my newer stuff again. Again, I'm just terrible at basing still.
Feanor
I dig it Can we get some more pics? Yeah Ive been painting minis for at least 12 years and only attempted "basing" this summer Keep up the good work
Inarah
Nice detail work on her armor. Her lip color looks a bit harsh, though. Maybe tone it down by mixing whatever red you used with some of her flesh color.
Ol'Timer
I dig the swishy bits at the bottom, nice highlighting. I'll agree with the call for some more photos of this one. I've tried this piece twice now, both times it ended up in The Green Soup; a deceptively hard one to do this well. ~OT
John Lee
I like her, but maybe tone the eyes down, they seem a bit bright to me, kinda draw your eyes away from the rest of the mini, just MHO, still a good job overall. I have this one sitting on my shelf of shame, waiting on some paint. John
Kataclysm
Ask and ya shall receive. From the back, I like the shield. I see what you mean by the lips and eyes. I'm still working the kinks out of my camera fu.
John Lee
I like the hair. Are you using the macro function on your camera? I seems to be focusing on the background. John
Kataclysm
Yes, i'm using the macro function, and am working on a light box, but it may be the very cheap camera I am using. I just can't afford anything atm :( I have read Mamageek's camera tutorial and I think its just the camera. I don't know why its focusing on the background. See my other post of the chronotech, I took about 40 pics and those where the best. Anyone have some ideas of my problem?
Inarah
I have trouble focusing my cheap camera when it is too close to the figure. I find that backing off some helps. Mine has a dot that flashes red if it can't focus on the item, and green if it can, I use that as a guide to help me find the sweet spot. I end up with a lot of space around the figure, which I crop off in Photoshop. Do this in the highest resolution possible on your camera, to preserve detail.
