Inarah
So, who else used Reaper Con to fall off the wagon? Fall? I leapt. I brought home ~94 figures or figure packs. And started my list for next year.

And started my list for next year. I think I ended up with about that many myself I'm hoping to get to RCon some year. I plan on simply packing a few collapsed flat rate boxes in my luggage, filling them up, and mailing them home.
Humansquish
Why pack the boxes? Reaper has a shipping department that they will let you use.
Citrine
All I will admit to is that I made a MS Access database to keep track of the figures we own, so we don't buy duplicates... We no longer attend Con's because we spent way to much of our disposable income buying figures and art the times we went.
Mad Jack
I've actually been really good about buying minis so far this year - being unemployed and on a count-the-pocket-change budget has kept me relatively honest. Aside from a single indulge-to-get-it-out-of-my-system $50 order from Reaper of about 7-8 minis and some bits back in March, the majority (at least monetarily) of the stuff I've bought has been older classic stuff from Ral Partha and other brands - mainly a direct result of the owner of my FLGS giving me some big discounts in order to clear old stock before he moved to a new location and then cutting me some on-the-spot deals during and after the move since I'd been working my butt off helping him move. Let's consult the Pile O' Doom... - My reaper order: 54mm Finari, two or three bits of klockenbooty, the not-Clint Eastwood outlaw, the alt sculpt of the female satyr for a conversion, and some assorted bitz from the Boneyard... - 03478 Tawny Firehair, catgirl, 03479 Murder of Crows, 03445 Drunken Pirate, 03643 half dragon, 03433 Castarci, 03430 young swamp dragon, 03441 gnome bard, 03439 halfling assassin, 03425 burning sphere, 03403 half-dragon paladin, 03395 The Summons... - Ral Partha's The Ultimate ATV (after having stared at it on the shelf for two whole decades) - A few of the ancient antiques that I posted about finding in the OMG thread : an Archive Miniatures kobold, an AM basilisk, an AM satyr, 2 AM minis I think might be fire elementals (or possibly slimes), and an AM set of Duck Adventurers - 6 Howard-the-Duck-looking things including a not-Conan... - WotC metal dire rat - Ral Partha rat swarm - Crucible Tauren Guardian - 2 GW lizardmen archers in a little plastic bag that I swept out from under the counter at the FLGS, basically free - Several box sets (about 30) of old plastic Heritage USA miniatures, too old to sell at the FLGS, also free Total minis: around 68 Total cost: somewhere around $200 after discounts, probably about $250 without them Considering that almost half the year has gone by and that quite a bit of what I've acquired was either free or something that I wouldn't have thought about buying if it hadn't been heavily discounted, I'm doing pretty darn good about not overspending on minis that I probably won't get around to painting anytime soon. King Tiger
Nothing to report yet... but when that "purdy" Frost Wyrm comes out (please God make it soon) I'll unleash the "credit card beast" once more.
warlordgarou
All I will admit to is that I made a MS Access database to keep track of the figures we own, so we don't buy duplicates... We no longer attend Con's because we spent way to much of our disposable income buying figures and art the times we went. Unless they are paying the shipping, I doubt I can get a better deal than the flat rate boxes - there is no way I can fit 70 pounds of figs into one of those boxes, but they would be heavy enough that the flat rate is probably the better way to go. And a flattened cardboard box does not take up much room. Thanks to Mad Jack's generosity, I have another 20 figs (old school stuff from the Wizard's Bane and Fighter's Fury games) - now I have to find some of the ones I used to have, and paint up new versions, then take some side-by-side pics. And I placed an order for some Warmachine figs - Adeptis Rahn, Garryth, a Heavy Myrmidon Plastic Kit, Battle Mages, a Chimera Light Warjack, an Arcanist Solo and a Mage Hunter unit - which I think adds another 21. So, I have added 45 in the last couple of weeks, and finished nothing (although 2 giant spiders for my goblins are almost done). ETA - forgot about a trade. Got 5 Savage Ork boar boyz, a skaven assassin, and a dwarf bolt thrower - which adds 10 (counting the machine as one, and each crew separate. Boar + rider counts as one, of course.) GreyHorde
heh heh Fall, leap, crash or burn, whatever you do to 'the wagon', it's all good.
warlordgarou
Added another 7 guys today, though one of the 21 from my last post is OOS, and OOS at Privateer as well, so I won't be getting one for a while. . . unless the FLGS has one. Mad Jack
heh heh Fall, leap, crash or burn, whatever you do to 'the wagon', it's all good. Personally, I'm using it to store my minis...
Darkmeer
lessee... lots of minis purchased this year (some out of print ones) Wizards of the Coast Ahmut's legion ranger, demonic gnoll adept, gnoll archer (to go with a the Reaper Boneflail, Gnoll cleric I bought) WotC Aasimar cleric, pulverizer (I'd really like to see reaper's take on something like this), human paladin (for D&D Chainmail), and a Grey Elf Snakestrike Duelist. WotC Mordengard faction box (the one with the Stone Spike) WotC City of the Spider Queen box set (it had 2 irae T'sarran, but no Drow Ranger, which is what I really wanted from the set) WotC: Monsters III box, an out-of print 2nd edition Ogre, a 3.0 Ogre (although I replaced the base with something larger one), a 2e Orc warrior Privateer Press: Khador Box Set, Cygnar Box Set Wyrd Miniatures: Seamus, the Mad Hatter (this guy looks awesome, even unpainted). Reaper: Halbarand 03427 (modded his hammer to be double flat edged, rather than the half-pick), Jolie 02835, Marilith for WarLord,03137 Nor'Okk Ettin. There are more, but I think this covers most of them. On the list of minis to buy are Xeldorian and the Pathfinder Visbaronetess and a Fire Giant. Most of these are partially painted or in process. The Ettin is darn near finished. Once I finish them all, I'm going to start basing everything at once. Greetings all :) /d
EntilZha
Just added a couple of Tsuisekis for my CAV army. Like I need more. But to paraphrase Princess Diana, "You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too many minis."
warlordgarou
The fig I wanted (Retribution Heavy Myrmidon kit) wasn't in, but the Trollkin Runebearer, so there was some consolation. Found out the group will let me proxy figs as well, so I can try out new units before dropping the cash to get them.
