Wouldn't you know it - the night I plan on working on these, I get sick and crash, thus throwing my whole schedule off. I'm working on them now, hope to have them out later tonight or sometime tomorrow. I appreciate your patience - but my goal is to have it in everyones hands before warlordgarou makes his FLGS trip - thanks for that motivation.

Don't worry about it too much - worst case scenario, I just have to go again. What a shame that would be, huh? :poke: Just worry about getting better.

Ok, everyone's exchange assignments are sent. If you didn't get yours, please let me know. Also, I think I send a couple on without attaching the forum name. If you're one of those people, let me know, and I'll forward you the forum name.

Remember - you have until April 30th to get your conversion done and sent to your Exchange Recipient

Once I got over the feelings of inadequacy caused by Froggys immense awesomeness, I got my rear over to the FLGS. I had written down a bunch of SKUs for possible starting points, and foolishly forgot to write down what each one was. Nothing but a notecard with 14063, 2789, 3022, 14234, 4968372, 29458484 and so forth.

Eventually I tossed the card, started browsing, and wandered out with only one extra miniature beyond what I think I will need for the project. And some comics.

Once I got over the feelings of inadequacy caused by Froggys immense awesomeness . . .
Hey now. Let me inspire sure, but don't go disheartening or anything. Seriously.

I'm doing this to have fun, not to "win".

A suggestion on inspiration - Look at random bits and stuff and wonder "If I were 28mm tall, what would that be? How could I use it? How could I graft it onto myself to make me more awesome?" Then find a figure that could do that, and the rest is details.

Oh, I was mostly kidding. It was a little shocking to see that you are already done, but that just means I need to up the bribe if I am not your lucky recipient. :poke:

I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, saw a figure that would work, saw another which will provide plenty of inspiration (that would be the extra I picked up), and found the figs that will help provide the extra bits I need. I just need to get some time with a razor saw and start greenstuffing.

Gah! I love doing conversions (note, this does not mean I am any good at them :).

I hope this goes well enough to do another, I definitely want in next time(I really should read through the forums more thoroughly when I visit...)!!

So far this one has gone smoothly enough that I'm planning on doing another. I've already learned a couple of things about this as well - frex, I don't think I'll narrow it down to Warlord armies next time, and I'm not going to worry about bases so much.

The real indicator will be how many people follow through - so far, I appear to be the slacker of the bunch.

I'm also comptemplating a series of Conversion Challenges. These wouldn't be exchanges, but more like a challenge to whomever wants to participate to take the designated mini(s) and post their conversion of said figure.
