You might have seen the Stormwing in the Reaper Winter Contest thread. I wanted to post some more pics here.

This is really cool sculpt (sorry Reaperfolks, but your official pic does not do this piece justice!), had a lot of fun painting it.

and this dwarf here is the Thunderlord from Avatars of War range. The base is Scibor Monstrous Miniatures stuff, I only attached some vegetation to it (and painted it of course)

Best White dragon I've seen. The whole mini is excellent.

As for the official pictures, i felt the same way about Cinder. Make sure you submit this to the Inspiration Gallery (if you haven't already) so we'll have it around to look at as time goes by. ::):

thank you for kind words.

@TaleSpinner - it is in the IG already ::): and as for the colour, I didn't think about the specific colour when I was painting it. I just wanted to paint it as the ice dragon. If I was to name him after colour, I'd rather choose blue, not white ::): But, I have to say I'm not familiar with D&D terms, perhaps this dragon should be called 'white', at least by gamers :)

Anyway, I'm now thinking about the colour scheme for my next dragon

Excellent and crisp work on the dragon. I like the variety of blues and purples that you achieved, and I can practically feel the cold spray from the waterfall base.

I like the color choices and the basing for the dwarf, but I'm having a hard time comprehending his face! ::P: If he is looking straight forward in the upper shot, I think I see his right eye, but his left eye is in shadow, and then I'm puzzled by the apparent absence of an upper lip and by the brown color and the bulbous form of the mouth area. (Is there a wooden mask over the mouth?) Anyway, some higher contrast and brighter colors around the face would make the forms more distinct and make it a clearer focal point.

He's puffin' on a big stogie, but it look like it's not lit. He has a pipe too.

I just noticed the face in the rocks. Very cool.

Derek, you're not the only one with that problem :poke:

Sculpt is pretty busy and painters much better than me failed to paint it properly with all details clearly visible.

Add my poor photo skills to it and there you have it - a mystery face aka what's going on there?

mouth - rgtriplec is right, there's a cigar. it adds to the confusion perhaps.

I'm also not fond of the face part, I know I failed to paint it nicely.

BTW, I hope this is not against board rules, but I wanted to inform that the dwarf will go to e-bay soon for a charity auction (Little Angels contest).
