Amalor Myrnnyx
Needed a couple Orcs for our DnD game. As always, thoughts, opinions, and thrown pottery welcome.

Ol'Timer
Really nice work on the FRR 2nd Freeman scheme. That's been one of my favorites for a long time, and to see it this well executed may finally push me over the edge to try it. ~OT
chronoplasm
I love the wooden shield on that one orc. Nice and clean. :)
cookjimjr
More great Mechs! Love the Marauder and the Clint. What are the other 2? Your paint schemes for them is great. Do you normally paint them as Individual units or are these Lance or higher paint schemes. The orcs are great also. They look ready to have their heads lopped off which is my favorite pose for an orc.

As for the Orcs getting their heads lopped off, I certainly hope not. They're on our side.
jdripley
I love the old Inner Sphere Succession War era medium chassis. Clint, Vindicator, Dervish... man, those were the days, before all of those fancy ultra autocannons, ERPPC's, double heat sinks... When common sense played a role in weapon load out. You had your main autocannon, a supporting missile or long or short range depending on the calibur of your AC, and a laser just in case the battle ran long. And if you were really lucky, you had some jump jets. Course, that might be why the Clans beat the life out of the Inner Sphere when they invaded, and why ComStar had to step in and pull off some fancy footwork to save the poor suckers who were still using AC's and standard single heat sinks. Thanks for posting those pictures and reminding me of my own personal perspective on the "glory days" of Battletech's storyline!
JimL
Cool stuff. Reminds me I have a box of orcs to paint for a Warlord army.

You had your main autocannon, a supporting missile or long or short range depending on the calibur of your AC, and a laser just in case the battle ran long. And if you were really lucky, you had some jump jets. Funny, I always preferred PPCs, medium lasers, and a big whack of heat sinks. Better range/damage curve, and no pesky ammo explosions on a crit. Best thing about the Clint was that you could easily replace the AC/5 with a PPC and a pair of heat sinks, and make a damn fine fire-support 'mech for minimal tonnage. (We always played to a tonnage cap.) You had to be careful with heat generation, though: alpha strikes every turn was a bad idea. But that's the neat thing about 3025 BattleTech: there weren't many gotta-haves. Have I mentioned, AM, how much I like the darklining on that there Clint? Great job of showing off the surface detail without making it cartoonish.

Thanks for posting those pictures and reminding me of my own personal perspective on the "glory days" of Battletech's storyline! I agree! I really enjoyed those days. I actually played all the way through the Return of Kerensky, when the clans just came into fruition. Then after I got out of the Navy, I lost my way and never played again. I sold all my stuff a few years ago and the only thing I have left is the 3050 technical readout book. It takes me back every time I peruse through the pages. I would love to play in that era again. Swanton
I really like the second orc. His skin appears to be glossy. Is that something that just happened or did you plan for that? I'm wondering how you achieved that effect.
