It may seem a bit weird

After fighting with taking consistent pictures, I finally found the "place" that gives me the best lighting... I take the minis upstairs into the bathroom. I set the figure down on the sink (on a grey t-shirt, but I assume a curled piece of paper would work as well, turn on all the lights (and hopefully the sun is out, so I can open the blinds as well), attach a shop lamp to the hand-towel holder, set the camera on a tripod in front of the sink and viola!

Though you all might have found this amusing

Nah it's not that odd. I used to take mini pics in my bathroom because it has white wallpaper and a huge mirror over the sink to bounce the light around and make it more even. Also there's the fact that there's a nice ready-made place to hang a shop-lite or two.

The only reason I ever moved OUT of the bathroom is that my bathroom is so small there was no room for the tripod unless I knelt on top of the toilet seat to focus the camera. Well..that and the fact that sometimes my bathroom was being used for 'other stuff'.

When I lived at home back in the yonder, I used to occasionally use my mom's bathroom for recording vocals on my demo tapes, and for a few other assorted sound effects. (Yes, like the sound of the toilet flushing.)

Nice, natural echo chamber, though the vocals did tend to fade a bit from the mic, just because of all the reverberation.

Bathrooms are good for all sorts of things.
