This figure I bought back in 2006, one of the first I ever bought. She was primed black then (as that was the only color I used lol) and has been sitting around since. No idea why I never got to her, but now that I have painted her I really have warmed up to this figure. I painted her for a friend of mine as a surprise :) I really hope she likes it.

Comments and Crits welcome and appreciated as always :)

The cloth is jaw-droppingly good. Warm, rich, smooth -- I sure wish you'd done a WIP, so I could get some idea of how you pulled it off. The ponytail down the centre of her hair looks a bit oversaturated -- the darklining against the gold bands sets them off well, but the bundle of hair looks washed out in one big highlight. On the other hand, the face is expressive and the eyes are great. Her expression really makes the figure work.

Thanks!! I do actually have a WIP here at my site if you'd like to check it out :) Feel free! For the clothing, though, I used the ivory triad that Reaper has. I love the warm colors it holds :)

For her hair, it was a bit damaged from being roughed up a bit over the years so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it? I noticed that as well :( I think I might have primed it too thickly (at the time I didn't know any better) and I definitely didn't wash her or anything before hand :) LOL It's amazing how far I've come with knowledge on painting after reading these forums so much :)

Also, thank you for complimenting the blacklining, I was wondering if anyone would see it since it's really well blended in lol :) Good eye!!!

And thanks, everyone else, for your kind words! Very encouraging :) and appreciative!!

Thasia,

Another great piece of art work. I always love your faces on the female figures you paint. They alway seem so inocent. I love the gold accents on her and I think they bring out all of the other colors very well. Look forward to more.
