AmbyDextrous
Here are my initial comments: Face & Hair: I had already put down a thicker starting coat on these parts, before I switched to trying thinner coats of paint. Blending: I attempted a blending on all the leather parts, from a green in the darker through to a lighter yellow at the brightest portions for the big pieces, as well as also shading the straps, buckles, and leather outlines. I think it may be too subtle. I am pleased though with the bag/satchel on her back. Metals: I still used metallics on the armor, but I tried NMM on the sword for the first time. Ha! Not quite what I hoped, but I learned a lot just trying to figure it out. Base: I don't have the cash to invest in those fancy grass stalk things that people seem to use a lot, but I had some old fuzzy faux-grass I glued on. I think I'll be strolling around my hood looking for small pebbles and twigs for future bases. Stones: Again, all I have is some ancient paints and brushes, but I tried for an "opal" like effect on the stones embedded in the leather. Overall I was most pleased with the one on the front. Clothing: I feel like the pants, boots, and gloves we just not quite what I was going for. The boots and gloves turned out way more blue than I wanted. I was thinking of more a gray with blue hints, but didn't quite turn out that way. The whole thing still looks a little "thicker" than what I would like, but it was some nice practice on parts of it. Oh, and of course, there is no sunshine today, so I took the best photos I could with the light I had. Comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks!!
Wilwarin
I love the color choices you used on this figure, she's very pretty. The opals look amazing! Very well done :) As for basing, no worries. The best materials are right in your back yard or, heck, even your spice rack! I really like this base though, nice work with the flocking! :D
Inarah
She came out very nice. It's good to see the older models painted up. The leather, the gems just look great. Nothing wrong with her base.
Mercius
She looks great...nothing I can add that hasn't been said. Just keep painting and you will get the hang of all the things you pointed out, you are already doing a great job thus far!
Mini Killer
I Can’t add much more than what everyone has said. The base looks good. The more you paint the better you will get. Quick question doses the sword have a green cast to it? If so, how did you get that effect?

If so, how did you get that effect? it does have a green cast. i used a mix of dragon black and dragon white reaper paints i picked up last summer with citadel colour "goblin green" that is probably 10 years old. many watery layers mixing those together to various shades. thanks for the comment! Ajii
hey she looks great though if you would like a hint on the "hint of blue with more gray." i found a method that works great for me, paint it the blue that you want to peek out then gray brush over it with the gray will take the center stage and the blue will be muted nicely but still give a good effect. it's hard to use though, as dry brushing is harder to control, and tends to spread to other areas before you know its happened. so there are my two bits hope they are helpful
pez5767
Nice job. On her bronze/leather armor, maybe try experimenting with some washes of darker brown tones to add a bit more depth. Overall though, you did a spot on job for working with limited material. thanks for showing your work! pez

cookjimjr
She looks very good and a I agree with everyone above. The more you paint and practice, the more you will feel comfortable with each technique you learn. Keep it up and keep posting.
