Chairman Aeon
So about these new dark elves for Warlord. Is there any info available about them? Are we talking D&D dark elves (AKA drow) or GW dark elves or ... ?!? Enquiring minds want to know! Iain.
Saint of Sinners
So about these new dark elves for Warlord. Is there any info available about them? Are we talking D&D dark elves (AKA drow) or GW dark elves or ... ?!? Enquiring minds want to know! Iain. They're Emo Elves. They dress up in dark clothing (hence the name), listen to melancholy music and talk about how depressing immortality is.
Sinden
http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/14571 http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/14575 Here are a couple models that we will be using in the army. There also many new models in the works. I have seen the art and they look awsome!
Reaperbryan
I know they're much closer to the typical fantasy Dark Elf than the standard Isiri/Darkspawn, which were a Demon-infused elven subrace. Although, these are all waaaay cooler than normal Dark Elves.
joshuaslater
Emo Elves!! Too funny. I look forward to seeing the range and I see some old school "Githyanki" vibe about them. Must be the tattered clothing.
Chairman Aeon
Here are a couple models that we will be using in the army. There also many new models in the works. I have seen the art and they look awsome! I know what they look like ... I have two of them. Just want to know if they are more drow (dark skin/light hair) or Melnibonean (light skin/dark hair). I'm assuming Machiavellian society. Lizard riders? Iain. PS: I don't know why people/companies feel the need to say like the expected, but cooler. Most people on the otherside just want the expected. I would expect you think your stuff is cool.
Stubbdog
Though not exactly drow, yes from the information I have, they will be more of the darker skin tone with lighter to white spikey hair in most cases. They have been going for a semi gothic theme for them in terms of their look and feel. Their home is in an icey cavernous underground area known as the Darkreaches (hey, get it? Darkreach Elves.. get it? botta bunk ching.. I'll be here all week) located somewhere below the Draketeeth Mountains.

Most people on the otherside just want the expected. I would expect you think your stuff is cool. Interesting point. For the life of me, I can't figure out why some people get so hung up on what color the skin/scale/hair/armor should be for a tiny metal model of a fictious character. I'm pretty certain that the moment you purchase them, you get to do pretty much whatever you want with them, regardless of what might be "canon". ~v
Chairman Aeon
Interesting point. Apples and oranges. My question about dark elves appearance was to see which way the line is going. These are the coolest figures I have seen out of Reaper in a long time. My comment about company statements is that it doesn't address the question asked. I'm sorry to the Reaper guys if my response came across as terse. Iain.
Patrick
Vicky and I just finished laying out all of the text and elements for the Darkreach section of the new Warlord: Savage North book earlier today. Ron sent us the edited text yesterday, and I haven't had a change to read all of it yet. We were moving it around as blocks of type in InDesign. I will read over it later today. From what I can determine, yes - the dark elves are described as having dark skin with light colored hair. That is officially in the book. The models were mostly (if not all) designed by Wayne Reynolds and some of his art has been used for the army section of the new book. I think Werner sculpted a few pieces and Bobby did a couple of others. Anyway - the section is shaping up nicely. We're still waiting on the order to list the data cards, the texy for the army doctrine and the text for the character descriptions but everything else has fit together nicely.
