Jubilee
Mathew - I think the flesh is turning out nice, but I think you have the eyebrow up too high. Also, traditionally the wider point of the eyebrow is the one closest to the nose, with the taper happening at the outer end. It looks a bit flipped the way you've painted it. If you wanted it to look like she was raising her eyebrows, feel free to ignore me, though I might add some more highlight above the eyebrow to make it look like the flesh is ridged up around a raised brow for more realism. mathewbaich
this is the reapercon exclusive sophie :D @Ali: the eyebrows are sculpted on, wasn't that nice of gene? :)
fieldarchy
looks pretty good but the lighting is really harsh in the pictures. Is there a way you can take some photos with more diffused light?
Jubilee
Hah! Now I know what was bothering me about Rhonda's paintjob. There's still too much space between the eye and the eyebrow, imo, sculpted eyebrows or no!
fieldarchy
That is one things that the sculptors need to stay away from. NO SCULPTED EYEBROWS! I like being able to paint mine on and give different expressions. That bothers me with Rhonda's version too. Otherwise great paint job but the space is way too large! Reaper User Vaitalla Posted June 3, 2010 Reaper User Share Posted June 3, 2010 Great start on this Matt! Keep it up, she's looking sharp so far. --Anne p.s. look out for bumpies on your skin, I'm seeing some grit (probably dust and stuff from the environment?) attached to her arms that's showing up in the photos. fieldarchy
I had this problem recently with the grit showing up on the skin and ended up taking my xacto blade knife to the area to clean it down to the metal. After a few coats of white paint I didn't have any issues and the paint has stuck.
captenglish
It's the convention sophie Thanks I going to have to figure out how to get my hands on one these little gems (no cons in my future I am afraid )
mathewbaich
another update!I haven't forgotten, working full time kinda eats up my painting time a bit :P the way her jaw/cheek area still bothers me a bit, she looks kinda old with the way it's currently highlighted/shaded but I'm going to leave it as-is in an attempt to keep from screwing it up more and canning the mini entirely.
