OK, it is done, at least until I find a home for it and can speak with a mold-maker about what else needs to be cut. I left it on its cork for now. If it will be a stand alone base I need to make it larger. If it is a slot base, then I will need the pins for the tab.

Andy, let me be the first to congratulate you on a job WELL DONE!! Excellent work. Even the engineering looks good. :poke: I hope we get to see it in production!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

I wouldn't have gotten very far without your advice. Thanks!

And thanks everyone for the encouragement and comments throughout this process. You all kept me going. :B):

Congratulations! That's an amazing beholder mini, probably the best I've seen out of the "professional" ones. Great stuff. It has been incredibly interesting seeing this project from start to finish. Now I just wish to see it painted... maybe I'll be able to pick it up in a blister pack at my FLGS someday!

Thanks. I have to keep resisting the urge to just paint it. It calls to me from my studio.

Well done. Hollowing it out will also really help reduce the cost in material and help with it being too top heavy.

Looking forward to seeing that put into production somewhere. It's been a blast watching the figure development.

I'll echo Michael's sentiment as well. A little cave critter on the base would be pretty sweet. Definitely lots of great potential for some folks to go a little nuts with fancy basing too.

Already picturing a small party hiding behind a few stalagmites waiting in ambush. Or hiding for their dear lives, with one member short and a pile of ash around some boots for their disintegrated party member on the base of the beholder/eye beast.

I just wanted to repeat the other sentiments above. I have truly enjoyed catching up and watching this thread as you went through this process and included everyone by taking feedback. It was so interesting. And as one who doesn't have those kinds of artistic skills, THANK YOU so much for posting it and allowing us to watch along with you.

I'm also glad you're feeling better. I look forward to news on this casting, and your next sculpts!
