Moderator TaleSpinner Posted August 11, 2011 Author Moderator Share Posted August 11, 2011 Got it done! Pictures should follow tonight. It was way too late last night to do the photo work. Andy

Moderator TaleSpinner Posted August 12, 2011 Author Moderator Share Posted August 12, 2011 OK, it is done, at least until I find a home for it and can speak with a mold-maker about what else needs to be cut. I left it on its cork for now. If it will be a stand alone base I need to make it larger. If it is a slot base, then I will need the pins for the tab. Front: Front Left: Left: Rear: Right: Right Front: Scale with Hanna Blackruby: Parts (so far): As always, comments are welcome. ixminis
Absolutely beautiful! I too would like to see that in production! I wonder how a little spider or scorpion would look on the bottom of the base ;-) Congratulations on such an awesome figure!
MamaGeek
Wow, Andy! Just, wow! That is one fantastic miniature! Zonto
Congratulations! That's an amazing beholder mini, probably the best I've seen out of the "professional" ones. Great stuff. It has been incredibly interesting seeing this project from start to finish. Now I just wish to see it painted... maybe I'll be able to pick it up in a blister pack at my FLGS someday! Qwyksilver
Well done. Hollowing it out will also really help reduce the cost in material and help with it being too top heavy. Looking forward to seeing that put into production somewhere. It's been a blast watching the figure development. I'll echo Michael's sentiment as well. A little cave critter on the base would be pretty sweet. Definitely lots of great potential for some folks to go a little nuts with fancy basing too. Already picturing a small party hiding behind a few stalagmites waiting in ambush. Or hiding for their dear lives, with one member short and a pile of ash around some boots for their disintegrated party member on the base of the beholder/eye beast. Thaelynne
I just wanted to repeat the other sentiments above. I have truly enjoyed catching up and watching this thread as you went through this process and included everyone by taking feedback. It was so interesting. And as one who doesn't have those kinds of artistic skills, THANK YOU so much for posting it and allowing us to watch along with you. I'm also glad you're feeling better. I look forward to news on this casting, and your next sculpts!
