Gilfalas
I noticed that it seems like I'm spamming the whole Elven Faction Thread. So I decided to open a new Thread for me to post lists. Interested people can discuss the lists/tactics and help improving my gameplay. First List for today: Elves - 1001 points, Protector Doctrine Troop 1 Argyrian, Silver Dragon Caerwynn Niriodel Hunting Cat x 2 Royal Guardsman x 4 Book of Tactics Magic Ranged Weapon Troop 2 Arnise, Deathseeker, Armor of Courage Death Seeker x 4 Vale Swordsman x 2 Troop 3 Mossbeard the Treeman Troop 4 Baeldrinahr Ring of the Unicorn Troop 1: Dragon Power with Fearless Aura! Some Ranged/Support Power in here Troop 2: Swift Attack is the way to initiate buffing even those cheap Swordsman to Mav 6 (Inspire, Doctrine, Support). Great troop to help my dragon out and also great for slaying monsters Troop 3: Heavy Support for mass units Troop 4: Good thing to kill damaged WL's and soft targets C&C welcome :) Looks like a fine list I think. First time I chose the Dragon
Reality
I'm not a huge fan of the dragon, but I would try to take full advantage of his warlord ability if I were to use him. In a swift attack list with Swordsmen I'd build him around a troop like the below: Troop 1 Argyrian, Silver Dragon Peruhain, Elven Monk Lysette Vale Swordsman x 4 Royal Guardsman x 6 It's fairly expensive, but you don't have to make discipline checks. Maybe lower the guardsmen count and up the swordsman. The guardsmen would be there to provide cover to the swordsmen as the guardsmen have better defenses than swordsmen. Peruhain can bless bot that troop and Lysette can be used to stun models you are about to swift attack so you don't have to worry about defensive strikes. I'm not a fan of Deathseekers for a swift attack list either. You pay more than twice as much in points for 1 MAV and 2 DV and no cleave. With a stunned model you don't have to worry about DV (there is a chance the stun won't land of course) but swordsmen will die more in the long run. Disclaimer: I haven't run a swordsmen heavy swift attack list yet as I've been tweaking my Gencon list.
Gilfalas
Most of the time I tend to use Larnach as a leader with the Lysette, 1-2 healer and the council doctrine. But I'm still looking for a nice setup therefore testing around a lot.
Inarah
I'd like to see how that first list stands up to a horde of necro zombies and a grave horror.
Stubbdog
Well, I can tell you from personal experience against them that the dragon should not be taken lightly. Especially when paired up with Mossy. It is a very potent pair of heavy hitters. If someone tries to do a swarm, then mossy is there to trample. If they bring strong soldiers then they bring a lot of muscle themselves. Having Niriodel in there for healing one or both of those also is a key ingrediant. And I think everyone just overlooks Baldy.. to their own demise... He is not the big stompy that Mossy is, but he is extremely affective for what he gives you. The idea is to use my dragon as swarming object or at least for taunting stronger models. Caerwynn shall help him there and kill/damage leaders as nirodiel is going to heal. But I'm not sure about the second troop and it's effectiveness. They shall extinguish smaller troops and help mossie/dragon out when they're getting in danger. I really love the Arnise Model that's why I chose Deathseeker as second troop. We're almost always playing multiplayer games of 3-5 players. Many Undeads and Demons represented there. Fearless is a nice possibility to counter their effects. Any ideas? I've also been very successful with my larnach, lysette, caerwynn troop.
