rgtriplec
Hey all you dirty black orcs, I was playing around with this 600pt list. But since i am a novice I could use some help. Troop 1 1 Kavorgh (170) 6 Goblin Sticker (7) 6 Goblin Swarmer (7) 1 Knax Madmaw, Goblin Shaman (38) 1 Granak the Butcher (61) 4 Black Orc Archer (34) Troop 2 1 Mountain Troll (107) 596 points I think your list may be a little weak in the melee department. Lists that are 500-750 points are really hard to get a good balance of melee, range and magic. IMO choosing either magic or range is necessary. Goblins were designed to be crap, and they pretty much are just meat shields. So, you need a little more punch in your melee. You can get 2 of the gnoll sniper for the same cost as the 4 orc archers. Both have advantages the orcs are not as good of archers but are better at melee. The Snipers are stealth and have a better range and 2 shots w/ poison. I'd take advantage of the Commanding leadership doctrine which allows elites in an orc led troop to become soldiers, and add in a Tundra beast. Its Shock could really help out your goblins, and a hyena's disable could help. Troop 1 Kavorgh Granak the Butcher Tundra Beast Rider Venomspite, Gnoll Sniper x 2 Goblin Sticker x 5 Hyena Luck Stone Troop 2 Mountain Troll Troop 1 Kavorgh Granak the Butcher Tundra Beast Rider Black Orc Archer x 3 Knax Madmaw, Goblin Shaman Goblin Sticker x 4 Goblin Swarmer x 3 Troop 2 Mountain Troll
spiritual_exorcist
Worthwhile to bring an all Gnoll army to the field? Would I be better getting rid of some of the Raiders and trying to add more reavers? Stubbdog
Don't forget to add in the luck stone. Overall looks like a good stout list. A couple of suggestions: 1. You could swap Gologh for Torg, gaining a spy and enough points to buy Kavorgh the Hide. 2. It would break up your all orc theme, but I might actually drop the two archers (68 points combined) and pick up 9 swarmers or stickers. They fit in with the faction docterine and give you a much higher model count. If you did want to stay with an archer, again going away from the all orc list, I might again use Venomspite with his sharpshooter, poison, and sniper instead of the orcs archers. Dinoman87
I will probably be adding Torg in the future. The main idea for this list is themed for something more than Warlord. I may also add the little goblines but that might be a while.
Stubbdog
Kargir - 1000 points Troop 1 Toghra the Despoiler Familiar Goblin Swarmer x 10 Troop 2 Yenkrak Boneflail Warbringer Gnoll Reaver x 3 Troop 3 Talanka, Ogre Shamaness Brugnungir Troop 4 Mountain Troll Troop 5 Mountain Troll --------------------------------------------------- 5 troops +1 tactician +1 spy 21 models (48 DTs, 40 MAs) 3 big uglies to run around. The spell casters can start out using divine spells to add swings and such. Then when needed, can explode something at the right time and even turn around and bring it back. Talanka can either Iron Skin a big stompy or just heal stuff everytime it gets hurt. Vampire dogs are always fun and catch the enemy offguard. Use the warbringer to help keep the vampire dogs alive longer. Swarmers are there to just get in the way and keep enemies from swarming the big stuff too fast. We like a little swarming (to be able to better use the swing thru), but not too much that brings us down.
Spike
I'm dying to know how they have done against old Reven. Not much discussion of game outcomes these days.
JeffyBaby
Kargir doesn't seem to get much love. I picked up some Kargir minis at last year's Reapercon; mostly because I love Tre Manor's sculpts. I haven't done anything with them, yet. For some reason, an inspired army list for them has thus far escaped me. I can't get a feel for them. Here is one that is built around the Rampaging Orcs doctrine, but I can't tell if it would be effective. Kargir - 998 points Troop 1 Kavorgh w/ Armor of Courage Knax Madmaw, Goblin Shaman w/ Familiar Venomspite, Gnoll Sniper x 2 Goblin Swarmer x 12 Black Orc Marauder x 5 Troop 2 Yenkrak Boneflail Gnoll Reaver x 3 Hyena x 3 Troop 3 Mountain Troll Luck Stone
Don Rodolfo Graziani
I have one list that is pure cheese and takes advantage of no doctrines at all but was funny to play. Troop 1 Toghra the Despoiler Hyena X2 Goblin Swarmer X4 Familiar Luck Stone Troops 2-5 Hrodash the Painmaster Goblin Swarmer X2 Troops 6-10 Mountain Troll The army runs in a very simple manner. With so many troops you effectively control initiative....unless you're playing against Jeff and I'm pulling the beads from the bag. Toghra forts up with the Hrodash meat shield in the far back of the board, while the Mountain Trolls move out to die. And die they shall do. Toghra spends the first two turns casting Divine Vigor on the Trolls. The remaining turns should be spent casting Resurrection on the dead Trolls to recycle them into Toghra's troop for the final push. Unless the enemy ignores the trolls to root out Toghra, you can resurrect up to three Trolls (Familiar giving you the additional points needed for that part, and assuming you need to resurrect a Troll on Turn 2). Is it perfect? No. Effective? Meh. Fun? You bet! DRG
