Razig Warlord Benefit v. Necroplis Graveyard Doctrine

This came up and we weren't sure how to play it out. When a necropolis model kills a razig model and the razig model fails its tough check does the necropolis player roll for a zombie, or does the fact that razig gives tough check rerolls at the end of the turn (so long as he is alive) mean the model isn't dead and the necropolis player has to wait until razig is dead to roll for zombies?

edit* just occurred to me that this could affect other army doctrines as well, such as the kargir rampage or the darkspawn pain token generation.

Razig: Model is destroyed, I would rule that you've roll for the zombie immediately (or gain the pain token, or undertake the Rampage action), although I would also allow for the Razig model to continue rolling their tough checks even to come back into the game even if the Necropolis succeeded in creating a zombie. Does it make total sense, maybe not, but it would hardly be unbalancing.

But then to follow up, if the razig model comes back a turn later and I kill it again do I the benefit for killing it again?(more zombies/pain tokens/rampage movements)

I would say you would (certainly with the pain and rampage, it is a little tougher to justify the zombie, but the chances of the same model coming back and being made into a zombie twice is only 1 in 100).

Raz ig's crew remains loyal to him to the end, and even beyond. While Raz ig is still on the

battlefield, any models in Razig's Troop with both the Undead and the Tough SAs that are

destroyed and removed from the battlefield may continue to make Tough checks during each

End Phase (including the turn they were destroyed). On a sucessful Tough check, the model is

placed back on the battlefield in Razig's troop (ignoring Troop Capacity), on their last DT,

anywhere within 3" of Razig.

Dance of the Dead

Whenever an enemy model is destroyed, make an 10+ roll. On a sucessful roll, replace the destroyed model with a Animated Corpse model, of the same Base Size as the destroyed model, with the following stats...

Razig's says "destroyed and removed from the battlefield" ... They are dead but haven't left the battlefield at the point of the Dance of the Dead check because it happens as soon as they are "destroyed". Meaning that if they fail their initial Tough check, they can be converted to a zombie immediately. If that fails they continue under Razig's doctrine bonus. If they succeed they are new cannon fodder ( ) for the Necros.
