Nanite
We're almost on a new TV season, anything worth watching? I think I'll pickup Fringe, I enjoyed the season-ender. I'm dropping V, it's to stupid for me to enjoy. No Ordinary Family may be good, but I kinda doubt it. The Event supposedly has a planned arc, so I'll give it a try. Anything else to tune into? Doug Sundseth
Eureka is sometimes aggressively dim, but the characters are likeable and the Sfx are fairly well done, and I don't get the impression that it's trying to be scientifically accurate (in any way at all), so I'll forgive a fair amount. Lars Porsenna
I dropped V a while ago. Dissappointing, yet so much potential... I have no idea what SF shows are slated to come on this year. I generally don't watch TV. I'd rather read a book (less dissappointing in general). Damon.
kristof65
If you like Eureka, Warehouse 13 is pretty good - like Eureka, it's more likable for it's characters than it's premise.
sethohman
Not sure if it counts as Sci-fi, but I am looking forward to The Walking Dead.
Shortbeard
On Showcase they started a show called "Lost Girl" the pilot episode shows promise. Plot concept is that "Fae" Creatures are in todays world and keeping themselves hidden from average humans using a two party political system. Light and Dark. The main character is a female succubus... Not sure succubus can be male. Anyway she didn't know she was a succubus and is not a part of either faction. As I said good potential after the pilot now to see how hollywood screws it up. SB
Coelacanth1938
Not sure if it counts as Sci-fi, but I am looking forward to The Walking Dead. It's going to be pretty big. orcsoul
Eureka and Warehouse 13 have recently begun to tie into one another (if even only in a very insignificant way) ... I do find warehouse 13 to be a very entertaining show though, even if only to make fun of some of the characters.
Chrome
We're almost on a new TV season, anything worth watching? I think I'll pickup Fringe, I enjoyed the season-ender. Thanks Nanite. I was torn on whether or not I should try and start watching this or not. I'll give it a try now. The Event supposedly has a planned arc, so I'll give it a try. I'll give it a try, but I fully expect it to end up like Lost or that blackout show that was on last fall (where everyone in the world passed out at the same time for 2 1/2 minutes and saw their futures). You know where all kinds of ridiculously stupid things happen and you're just supposed to accept/ignore them.

You know where all kinds of ridiculously stupid things happen and you're just supposed to accept/ignore them. I figured that as well, but read an interview with the creator, he's been working on it for a while, and supposedly has it all set down. The studio picked it for production because the story had forward momentum (indeed, unlike lost and flashwhatever). I Forgot about Walking Dead! That's a must see. I didn't really like the alternate timeline plot on Eureka this year. I keep thinking the show can't get any dumber, but then they find another shark to jump. I still watch it for Carter and Lupo. Warehouse 13 is more fantasy though, right? Most of the artifacts are supernatural? Anyone watching Caprica? I lost interest, especially knowing how it all ends. fodder
Stargate Universe unless i'm the only one who hasn't given up on that show. I just hope there's more shooting stuff in this season. Also isn't Supernatural having it's last season or something?
kristof65
I didn't really like the alternate timeline plot on Eureka this year. At first I didn't like it either, and was waiting for them to fix it. Now I hope they don't fix it. I rather like the story lines that are revolving around how they deal with the differences of the latered timeline. I'd rather see them try and fix it, but fail miserably and change things up again. Of course, with Hollywood, if it worked a second time, the entire series would probably come to revolve around changing things up every season. That would get old. Warehouse 13 is more fantasy though, right? Most of the artifacts are supernatural? For the most part, yes. The majoirty of the artifacts get their powers from being part of historic events - IE, a plank from the Titantic being imbued with the super cold that the victims suffered, or a chain from Torquamada's stretching rack being able to do the same thing to it's victims without touchign them. But there is some tech, too - a lot of "steampunk" style tech - things that were designed to protect the artifacts in the Warehouse decades, even centuries ago or the little "video celphone" style devices they use to communicate that were supposedly designed and built before even the first celphones. One of the new characters is even supposed to be H.G. Wells, revived from a form of cryogenic sleep called "bronzing". @fodder - you aren't the only one who still enjoy's SG:Universe - my wife and I are looking forward to it's return. Chrome
Also isn't Supernatural having it's last season or something? I think it depends on how the ratings are. Obviously moving a TV show to Friday night is usually the kiss of death, but I think that CW planned on last season being the final season for Smallville too and it did great on Fridays so they renewed it. I think that Supernatural actually has a pretty good shot at getting renewed b/c the show that they put in its Thurs time slot absolutely sucks. You'd think that somebody at CW would have enough brain power to realize that if 2 Nikita TV series both bombed, a 3rd one isn't going to do any better. Especially if the woman you cast in the leading role can't act.
fodder
The Nikita on USA was pretty good it was too interconnected. If you missed an ep you were lost. which was the downside. The french movie wasn't bad, but not what you would expect if you'd already seen the american tv show. As for Supernatural, it was only supposed to be five seasons. I think it'll be like when Buffy went from WB to UPN. It wasn't bad, but there was still something a little off about the show that made it hard to stay interested in.
