kristof65
According to Wired magazine, in addition to The Walking Dead, there is a British import about Zombies coming this fall as well. Can't recall the name of it, though.
Chrome
Anybody watch that show on BBC US about the vampires and werewolves? The commercials that I've seen look pretty good, but I always keep forgetting to DVR it.
kristof65
Is that the one called Being Human? If so, it's not bad at all. And even though it has vamps in it, what it doesn't have is a human girl swooning to be with a vamp, which is refreshing given that theme appears in Twilight, Moonlight, True Blood and Vampire Diaries, to name a few. Chrome
Yeah, that's it. After asking about it I realized that it wasn't a scifi show tho.
Nanite
Did anyone see the 2009 BBC version of Day of the Triffids? It seemed to come and go with no fanfare. The Event was, ok. If they drop the flashbacks I'll keep watching. Oh and Warehouse 13, HG Wells is a woman? What the what? Not sci-fi but the new Hawaii 5-O made me want to stab my TV. I was watching it for Grace Park and Daniel Day Kim, and sweet zombie gerbils it was awful.
kristof65
Oh and Warehouse 13, HG Wells is a woman? What the what? They had a pretty good reveal on that. There is the HG Wells that is famous, and then there is the "reality" of her being, well, a woman. Basically, she wrote the stuff, and her brother fronted for her. And, of course, since the agents were looking for a man, she was able to get the drop on them. All and all, I watch Warehouse 13 for the interaction between Pete and Mika. The Wells character makes it more interesting. Oh, and I guess I should fess up to watching for Claudia, too...
gwangi32
Chuck season 4 had a good start this season. It's a great show but season 3 had a few low spots. Eureka is OK, Warehouse 13 is fun. Caprica is harsh and gritty, even knowing where it supposedly went there are some themes that may help explain some of the cylon psyche. I like Stargate Universe as well. fodder
The Event was, ok. If they drop the flashbacks I'll keep watching. I felt like I was watching Vantage Point at times. It's a one trick pony that gets old real quick. The end was pretty awesome tho. I can truly say that I didn't see it coming. Solid show. Compelling story. AWESOME hook. They did a good job of making you want to know what the Event is.

I didn't have time to connect to any of the characters so while I was somewhat intrigued I didn't particularly care about anyone.

Nanite
aaaaand done with The Event. It wants to be LOST so bad it hurts. Has none of the polish or atmosphere of LOST though, and all of the irritating writing, flashbacks, retcons, characters... And that's just two episodes. Chrome
I've got it on DVR but haven't watched it yet. I kinda figured I wouldn't be keeping up with it tho. Same with Nikita... lame. We watched No Ordinary Family last night. I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with it. Not that the story or acting was that horrible, but my wife and I were hoping that it was something that we could all watch as a family w/our 9 year old son. So I was pretty shocked when less than 5 minutes into it the daughter is exclaiming that she's going to die without ever having done it. Throw in a few needless swear words and a lot more sex talk and its safe to say that I'll be previewing the next episode before I let my son watch it. Its disappointing that great family shows like Robinson Crusoe and Merlin keep getting canceled for crap like this that tries to attract teens by being edgy. Hate to break it to you Hollywood, but teens just don't want to watch TV w/their parents, no matter what the show is like.
fodder
Chrome, too much of that going on. You go to watch a tv show or a movie CLEARLY targetted for families or kids and you're like... WHY? And 99% of the time it's so obvious and pointless that it actually turns you off to the show/ movie (yeah i'm looking at you revenge of the fallen)
Sergeant_Crunch
I used to watch TV with my dad when I was teen. Of course it was "Star Trek" and "Married With Children"....
