olliekickflip
I painted this piece up for Katie G as a thank you for all her hard work organizing the Gen Con painting classes. It was a lot of fun to paint and I really enjoyed sculpting the base! I hope you like it.. CMON link

demonelf3
After seeing this guy in person, all I can say is wow. He was probably one of the top 5 minis in the show! An unlucky category placement aside, I absolutely love this fig. I am going to try my hand very soon at these milliput bases and water. This piece is just so atmospheric it's hard not to stare at. Great work Aaron.

flameberge
There are some amazing painters out there, ones that I have looked at their work with envy and said to myself, "Wow, I wish I was that good." And guess what, you stomped them into the ground with this work. Your work is so amazing and so stunning I simply don't have the words to adequately describe just how good this piece is. awong
Beautiful. I really like that smirk on his face. I love the pieces that have character. A great sculpt and a fantastic job bringing that sculpt to life. I'd like to know how you tackled the background. The stonework on the walls really catch my eye. Are you highlighting those cracks and crevasses using a brush or airbrush or...? Amazing. -AW

olliekickflip
Here are a couple pics of the base before I painted it...I knew I had these somewhere!!! Though you might like to take a peak. After all that building...my favorite thing is the latch for the door. As for the body, its a square wood block from Michael's Hobby store and a round wooden piece that I think is for putting yarn around (it just looked like a castle tower so I just had to use it as a base)...cut at a 90 degree angle to match the wood base and then covered in milliput. I used a little bit of plasticard for the dock and some wire for the dock tie down and door knocker. It was fun to sculpt...but I never thought that I would finish painting all those stones!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh
Mercius
Great to see the process behind the mini...your work as always blows me away and gives me something to strive toward.
cookjimjr
Superb! I think the mini is great, but the basing is what makes this for me. Just another knight with out it, but the basing gives the peice some background and to me that is what basing should do. Plus it looks pretty real, which also helps.
