Azazel
Hi people. Yet another rule clarification needed.... (I should have a single thread for all these questions... ) Time for ascii map goodness... E = Enemy G = Goodguys B = Goodboss ...................... .........G........... .......EEEG...... .........B.......... ...................... Question: Do the enemy models(E) recieve a support bonus for being 3 models in btb with the GoodBoss(B), or is it negated by the GoodGuys(G) basing them as well? (I guess I'm kinda affected by my Bloodbowl mentality with canceling out support bonuses...) The question arised at our latest battle, where it became a clusterf*ck in later turns, with multiple models engaged from different angles. It seemed odd to recieve support bonus by just being 3 models in B2B, when in reality those 3 models were being based from the opposite side as well. Anyways. Thx alot for you assistance. - Azazel
Gus Landt
Yes, the enemy models(E) recieve a support bonus for being 3 models in btb with the GoodBoss(B). Warlord is about keeping things simple. If you have 3 models in B2B with an enemy model, those 3 models gain a Support bonus when attacking said enemy model. Doesn't matter what else is going on for those 3 models.

Ok, upping the ante some then. :P G = Goodguys B = Goodboss 1 = Enemy troop 1 2 = Enemy troop 2 ...................... .........G........... .......221G...... .........B.......... ...................... - Enemy1 was already in B2B with Goodboss and the two Goodguys. - Enemy2 just used both its actions for movement to get into B2B with Goodboss, but cant attack this activation. - Enemy1 now activates and attacks Goodboss. Does enemy1 get support bonus from enemy2, eventhough enemy2 isnt actively participating in the fighting? Simply put: Do models grant support bonus if they arent using a fightaction? - ie. they are simply standing in B2B. - Azazel

In fact, if you have 3 models from different Troops–who all have different Activations–they would each get the Support bonus on their Activations. Shakandara
Pralix is right on, but in raising your example, it appears that there is something else that should be noted. It's a little hard to tell because of the character placement, but it looks like you are talking about the following basing situation: The two O'lord warriors are your Goodguys, Matisse is your Goodboss, Ra'am is your Troop 1 Enemy, and the two Spikeshells are your Troop 2 enemies. The problem is not in the placement, as much as your description of how they got there. If everyone except the Spikeshells are already in place, then the Spikeshell on the right would not be able to move to where he is pictured above. On p. 30, it describes how models cannot "slide" along a base that they come in contact with. Once it makes contact, it stops moving. This would hardly prevent you from getting support, just not with the placement/movement that you described in your second example. ~v
Deadeye_Jake
I declare a PARTY FOUL!! The two O'lord warriors are your Goodguys, Matisse is your Goodboss, Ra'am is your Troop 1 Enemy, and the two Spikeshells are your Troop 2 enemies. The Overlords are NEVER the Goodguys!! =-J
Shakandara
And when I play them, they are extra Evil. However, Matisse was handy for the pictures. ~v
herzogbrian
The Overlords are NEVER the Goodguys!! I beg to differ. The overlords are not EVIL they are just painted that way. A completely misunderstood faction, that are only trying to make a living in a harsh world and in doing so promote the evolution of all beings (that's survival of the fittest, btw). The Crusaders are EVIL for trying to impose their belief system on others, the Dwarves Evil because NOTHING good lives under ground in the dark, the Elves are EVIL because they have...er.. pointy ears yeah THAT'S it, and the Sisterhood is EVIL because, well..., just because!
