Kamui K
I know plenty of painters recommend spices and other edible stuff on their minis. But I just have to share my experiences.... Well, after seeing Chrispy's article on CMoN, sure enough I tried it out myself. Used pepper, cinnomon, and a bunch of other stuff I can't recall on various minis last year. Glued them down and dullcoted them. Left them outside to dry. Returned in horror when I returned to watch huge water bugs come out and eat up and crawling over my minis. But I chuckled inside while I also watched them stumbling away with poisoned spices in thier bellies. I'm sure dullcoted spices aren't good for them. Either that, or dullcote was starting to dry on their feet and antenaes. :p Lesson is: Just be warned. If it smells good, other bugs and pets might be attracted to them. And lets not forget that with humidity or in time, they may rot and spoil unless you give it a real good heavy sealer I'd imagine. But then that would kill the effect of leaves now wouldn't it? Just sharing some thoughts.
Digital M@
I just use real leaves collected in the fall. I then paint them colors similar to teir natural hues. I cut them into little pieces. This only is good for a few weeks out of the year. Since I don't paint much until it starts getting cold, it works for me.
Brooding Paladin
I use the Hudson & Allen products too. I'm very pleased with their stuff.
Darkrelease
Hudson & Allen has some cool products: Any chance you can post the link for their website?
Mengu
Unfortunately they do not have a web site. You'll have to do a google search for "Hudson & Allen" and see what other resellers have on their websites to offer. I haven't been able to find one that has a good web site, and stocks all their products (not to say there isn't one). I go with a local distributor. Reaper User Vaitalla Posted October 24, 2003 Reaper User Share Posted October 24, 2003 To be specific, the Hudson and Allen "Forest Litter" is the tiny little dead leaves, and the "Foliage" is the green variety. That's what Jennifer and I and most of the other gallery artists use, it's actually little seed pods. :) --Anne

Reaper User Vaitalla Posted October 24, 2003 Reaper User Share Posted October 24, 2003 Where do you get yours, Anne? Wherever the heck I can! Jen and I got our original bags from the Hudson & Allen booth at Origins last year, but they weren't back this year; I know Ron uses a particular site to order stuff for Reaper, so I'll ask him Monday when he's back in. :) --Anne
