Jame
I guess the thing to remember is, you can always buy or trade for the bases you want. Personally, I prefer squares to rounds, but I still hang on to those round bases for trade bait. You'll want to be careful, though, with the "my thread, I win" attitude. You'll find that people won't want to trade with or assist you if you come across like a jerk. You are correct on the attitude. I shall keep it in mind as best I can. :)
MikeD
I dislike the 30mm bases that Chronoscope has been switched to, and prefer GW-style 28mm round bases. Personally, I like the current Chronoscope bases over the GW-style. If you really prefer the GW-style, you should be able to find as many as you need for basing Chronoscope figures for pennies apiece (if not free). How about different kinds of 30mm bases? Something that looks like a wooden deck or metal plates or muddy ground or a tile floor would be nice. There is at least one of the current Chronoscope figures (I foget the name... Rat Queen?) which came with a metal "cobblestone" insert for the plastic base. I'd love to see more of these (pavement, deck plating, rubble, etc.) included with other Chronoscope figures. As an interim measure there is such a thing as styrene sheets with assorted textures. If someone could work out how to make a clean, circular cutout from one of those sheets numerous textures would become available. Maybe some kind of scribing tool and a circular template the correct size...? I wonder if the ID of those bases is 25mm?
Shin Okada
While it may be good to have some of those texture tile coming with minis, I largely prefer to see some kind of "insert texture pack" which I can use for any mini I like. zemjw
There are a couple of things I use to cut circles in plasticard. The first is a compass cutter amazon.co.uk link. It's very flexible as you can set any radius you want. It's then just a case of patience as it can take a few minutes to cut each one. I've used it on plasticard up to 1mm thick without any problem (although I had to turn the card over to cut through from the other side as well). I did try it on 2mm thick plasticard, but it wouldn't cut the whole way through, and even cutting from the other side didn't really work. A thing I picked up recently is a punch that will cut 25mm (1") holes (other sizes and shapes are available). They're sold as craft punches, so you should be able to find them in art shops (where I got mine). I've used them on textured plasticard 0.6mm thick, and they're a lot quicker than the compass (and you don't have the hole in the middle from the compass point). The problem is that they only cut the one size. The hole in a 30mm base is about 22mm, so the punch would be slightly too big. I'd definitely recommend a compass cutter as part of the toolbox
Beowulfthehunter
I love Reaper, but there is one issue I feel I must compain about. Could we please have different bases with the Chronoscope minis. I only use 25mm round on my Sci-fi/modern figures. The 30mm bases that they come with are a bit on the large size (more like 31.5mm) which make them unable to be used in the troop trays I had custom built. It is a minor rant I know, but I have an excess of the things and have given most of them away.
Cyradis
The bases generally don't bug me, since all I use them for is support. However, Denver, Zombie Survivor flat out does not fit on his base due to the suitcase. I'd suggest just making sure all the stuff can fit on the given base. ixminis
There was another similar thread... searching... found it! 30mm base discussion
Doug Sundseth
If you want 25mm bases, use quarters. They're usually available for about $0.25US (occasionally for $0.25CAN) and can be found in a surprising number of places, IME. (Let me know if you find a discount price.)

I got a Chronoscope figure on a nickle too. Those are a fifth of the price of a quarter!
Doug Sundseth
I have an acquaintance that is selling 1" (or perhaps 25mm) steel bases. For $0.30 each.
Qwyksilver
I'd really like my Chronoscope figures on integrated broccoli bases. And you kids get your damn bikes off my lawn!

fieldarchy
Yeah I don't really understand the need for the outcry on this topic to be honest and I'm not trying to be mean or snarky. Since I'm a painter first these days and a gamer second I have more bases than kingdom come. Really, if you don't like certain bases just toss them into a jar or box of some sort and once you've collected a good amount sell them on ebay or trade with someone. I actually really like the chronoscope bases myself for the look. However on my personal gaming table my minis have square bases. If you end up collecting enough minis over time you'll end up with a good amount and variety of bases. If you've never used it though go on CMoN and post that you've got a bunch of bases from the Chronoscope/Warmachine line (since they are the same as the Warmachine bases) and you'd like to trade for whatever bases you want. I'm sure you'll get a bunch of hits.
