Hells_Clown
Ok Reaper fan-atics I'm wondering something. I'm currently working on Ms. Roseblade and am having trouble with the boots. From the rear there are several buckels that go all the way to the top, thus making it look to me that the front of the boot is actually a cover or armor of some kind. What is everyone else's opinion on this? I've not seen a painted rear view of this one so I dunno what's what.
Enchantra
I have this same mini though I have not painted her yet. In my opinion it is just another piece of leather, maybe heavier leather. Most swashbucklers did not wear armor, it prevented freedom of movement and h@ll, you cannot swim with it on.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted October 27, 2003 Moderator Share Posted October 27, 2003 I think I just painted them red and left the interpretation up to the viewer.
Dragon Snack
I've seen them done both ways effectively. Check the painting contest, there is one there this month done as separate pieces (and there may be some from past months). I took the easy way out on her as well, but then I was painting her for a cheap commission job. There's enough detail there to really pick stuff out though. Kamui K
I thought they were leather covers over her leggings. And the straps were just holding it up and together. But she does seem to have a small patch of metal armor ontop of her foot area. I never thought it to be anything else other than that. Now I'm curious too and gotta check out other ppls works.
