I...I didn't know there was an all-Mouslings-all-the-time thread. Excuse me a moment while I dab my eyes. I appear to have gotten some stray dust in them.

Oliver Twist Mousling (complete with "Please sir, I want some more" bowl and sad, sad eyes)

Mariachi Mouslings!

3 Mouslings stacked on each other wearing an long coat with faces peeking out between the buttons and pretending to be a tall person SQUEE

Mad Scientist Mousling and Mouslingstein!

Mousling holding onto a balloon that's lifting him/her off the ground and all that's left touching is a big toe IT'S NOT STURDY BUT IT'S AWESOME

Drunk Mousling lounging in a washtub (mug in hand)

I'll think of 12 more as soon as I hit the post button...

Heck of it is... Gene's kind of ahead of my curve. Last year, when I attended Reapercon, I was getting a little tired of the holiday themed mouselings, and thought it'd be nice if he'd go back to the original concept of "dungeon and wilderness adventurer/fantasy hero" archetypes.

And when I tripped over Gene, and he showed me his concept art, it turned out he'd stolen a march on me; the Bones mouselings are all, near as I can tell, from the concept art. And sure enough, he was going back to the original well.

We've already got cowboy mouselings, Indiana Jones and Lara Croft mouselings, b-movie space mouselings, zombie mouselings and hunter mouselings, and even a gypsy fortuneteller mouseling. Sure, I'd love to see Doctor Who mouselings, but I also have to take into account that even if Gene makes 'em, Ron's got to clear 'em, and they have to be something reasonable saleable... and preferably lawsuit free. And archetypes are a good way to stay firmly in saleable AND legal territory.

A mad doctor mouseling with assistant? Sure. How about a Great Detective mouseling and his sidekick? Sherlock Holmes is in the public domain now. I also wouldn't mind Frankenmouseling and Count Liederkrantz, Vampire Mouseling, perhaps even with a damsel mouseling. And judging from the look of the Asian mouseling, I wouldn't say no to another samurai mouseling or two, and maybe a ninja mouseling.

Not getting my hopes up, though. It has to be things that'll sell, and remain popular for a while. But if I look at "categories of minis," particularly the categories I have lying around my workbench -- sci-fi, fantasy, dragons, soldiers, and so on? Mouselings are the only category I have that is, as of the moment, completely painted.
