No Sophie for Reaper Con this year?

Dead Mouseling in a mousetrap.

The Auld Grump, in regards to mousie Sophie, 'drather have Sophie, no mouse

You are assuming that it is a rant, understandable, but inaccurate...The timing with the Sophie/Mousling confusion was coincidental...

Coincidental? I don't think so. The timestamps look pretty clear to me... <_<

It doesn't matter whether you like the mouselings or not. They're not everybody's cup of tea. I get it. What I don't get is your overreaction to something you misread and how it spilled over into this, a completely unrelated thread.

In the meantime, keep chasing those grammarnogoodnicks Auld Don Quixote. I'm sure you'll get them all rounded up and set straight eventually.

No - I repeat, for the slow of thinking - I want a mousling in a mousetrap.

I can even point you to a similar figure by Grenadier in the 1980s, of a wererat in a giant mousetrap.

A figure that I have wished that I owned more than once. (I have the undead wargamers and the undead pizza delivery boy - the line was Comedy Lords, first available in blister packs, then packaged in a box.)

I will point out that I already knew of this figure and remembered it. Not something that I would have bothered remembering if it had not interested me. Every now and again I have looked for it on EBay.

The kvetch about mousling Sophie, that I will grant you, since I was indeed annoyed about what I thought was going on about RC Sophie., but no, the mouslingtrap is separate, and something that I would like to see. Without the mention of Mousling Sophie, and without my (admitted) error in the case of the Reaper Con Sophie, I would still have suggested the dead mousling in a mousetrap, if I had posted at all.

The timing is similar because I had not been on the Reaper forums in about a month, and I was going through the topics in order, from top to bottom of page. Since I had posted to the one I then posted to the next that caught my eye. Once having posted I am more likely to post again. It is likely that I shall do so again once I have submitted this.

I am not above just saying 'I wish that Reaper would drop the stupid mouslings altogether' if that is what I wished to say. It is in fact very likely that that is how I would have worded it if I were making such a post.

If I did not word it that way then that is not what I said.

Since I did not, then I did not. Didactic enough? I try to avoid saying things other than directly, unless it will be obvious by context that I have done. Saying outright that I hate the 'mieces to pieces' (which I did do in the Reaper Con Sophie thread) was a response to a 'mousling instead of Sophie', and apart from a 'mousling as mousling' And in part because a Tom & Jerry comment seemed appropriate.

Mouslings are a curiosity, fitting much the same niche as Comedy Lords, if somewhat cuter and better sculpted. The dead mousling in a trap would likely either be a gift to a Skaven player or attached to a bit of terrain for Mordheim, depending on whether or not I had any terrain in progress.

A few months back I suggested a mousling figure to someone who was looking for a gift on the Miniatures Page message boards - you can look it up, if you so desire, since I am pretty sure that TMP has archives reaching much further back, and I don't have all that many posts there. I believe the terms that you should look for are 'mouse' and 'witch', as well as user 'The Auld Grump'.

So, let us leave the argument behind, and I will repeat again, hopefully without it being taken as slur or challenge:

I would like to see a Mousling in a mousetrap.

Failing that, a mousling finessing a mousetrap will do, but I would prefer to see it caught.

Let's see he has tried to locate it on ebay without luck, so its not like he hasn't tried.

What I really want are a series of mouslings in British Napoleonic uniforms, 1 from a flank company, 1 from a center company, 1 standard bearer, 1 drummer, 1 sergeant with the pikestaff and an officer. I would suggest an officer on a mount of some kind but have no idea what a mouseling might ride. Ideally kneeling, standing and loading poses for the flank and center company mouslings.

Foxes! Cute fuzzy Mammalian version of Goblin Warg-Riders.

Foxes are too big. A weasel would be better.

Bats! Then the flying mouse will be a flying mouse with a mouse flying on top wacko.gif
