rocketranger0990
Two questions. Will there be more Andromeda aliens? When will the Maria robot from Metropolis be ready? I would like some fighting Andromeda aliens, female fighters if possible. I am looking forward to the Metropolis figure as well.
Dr.Bedlam
...there's a Metropolis robot coming? I'd buy that...
SaintRigger
That would be absolutely brilliant. I think Metropolis is in the public domain by now, as well.
TheAuldGrump
Maria from Metropolis is in the works? Metropolis is my second or third favorite film of all time, behind The Lion in Winter and tied with Nosferatu. Steampunk long before the term steampunk was coined. A figure of Rotwang would be spiffy as well. The Auld Grump
Patrick
Thanks for the pressure! I have been meticulously sculpting Maria on my secret workbench for some time now. But the cat is outta the bag! The armature and pose are finished and I'll be filling out some more stuff on it this month. I also have more Andromedans in the works but that IP is locked down at the moment until it's fate is determined. We are still working behind the scenes. rocketranger0990
Thats great news, Patrick, I was beginning to think you couldn't solve a problem like Maria (wrong movie) I do like the Andromeda aliens you have offered so far and I look forward to more. TheAuldGrump
Thanks for the pressure! I have been meticulously sculpting Maria on my secret workbench for some time now. I also have more Andromedans in the works but that IP is locked down at the moment until it's fate is determined. We are still working behind the scenes. So, how do you handle a problem like Maria? Oh, wait, wrong movie.... Metropolis is, in my jaundiced opinion, the best steampunk movie ever made - fifty years and more before the term was coined. :) (I watched the restored version a few months back, the one with 25 minutes of previously lost footage. The restored footage was not in good shape, and it shows, but worth it.) The Auld Grump
Patrick
Actually, after a bit of research, the Metropolis film has been reclaimed for copyright by the F.W. Murnau Foundation when the revised DVD was released. So my version will not be a definitive representation of the exact design in the film. But I have certainly been "inspired" to sculpt a suitable female robot that is evocative of the design. As for more Andromedans, the fate of their background and story fluff has not yet been determined, but if Reaper is interested in producing more of the figures I would certainly be happy to provide them. Sadly - I had to look that reference up.
MikeD
I also have more Andromedans in the works but that IP is locked down at the moment until it's fate is determined. We are still working behind the scenes. I'm curious now. I thought the Andromedans figures were all original concepts. What IP are they associated with? Patrick
I'm curious now. I thought the Andromedans figures were all original concepts. What IP are they associated with? They are essentially my IP but I'm still trying to find a viable venue for them such as a tabletop game or RPG to develop the fluff and such. So, it's kind of on the back burner until I can get that sorted out. In the meantime there will still be a few character models and the like for Chronoscope. Patrick
http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/previews/latest/50241 Also - the newest Illyrian should be available soon, too! The Illyrians and Andromedans are some ideas I came up with wayyyyy back in the mid 80's and finally got to see light in the Chronoscope range. I would like to see an RPG setting published at some point that will detail all the cool background fluff that is swimming around in my head about all of them. Maybe something like Savage Worlds where Reaper could make all the figures for the various characters. Who knows?
