MamaGeek
Have you thought about using pasticard for any of your surfaces? It would probably save you a lot of work. (Tip: Search for Pastruct at Amazon.com for lots of modeling goodies)
dargrin
I thought about that when I was first mulling over this project. I decided to go with natural wood so I could use the natural grain that it already has. Not only that I already had the stirrers so cost was really not an issue. dargrin
Shingles maybe?
MamaGeek
I like that door. Where did you get it? (BTW, I found that paint in Michaels, thanks so much for the tip!) Shingles, definitely! They look great! I'm really excited about following this project. Can't wait for the next installment!

dargrin
Thanks guys. May index finger hurts from cutting all of the shingles but I think its worth it. I like that door. Where did you get it? (BTW, I found that paint in Michaels, thanks so much for the tip!) Glad you could find the paint. Much easier on the wallet if you are doing a big paint job like this. I made the door from coffee stirrers, pins and a bit of brass wire. I have the step by steps for those but I was being a bit lazy last night. If you want me to post them let me know. It was pretty easy actually.
MamaGeek
The step-by-step for the door would make a good Reaper Craft article, I think. Yes, I'd like to see it!
Qwyksilver
Mike, I have some old khaki's that I cut up to use as canvas. If you need any for the windmill sails, I can see about digging it out and bringing to the paint day.
dargrin
Thanks Mike, that sounds good. Hopefully I will have the framework setup by then. I have a test model right now but not really not sure how it like the look.
Jabberwocky
Fascinating watching this come together. Thanks for the step by step. Makes me want to do something like this...if only I have the technical skills, lol. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler!
dargrin
The step-by-step for the door would make a good Reaper Craft article, I think. Yes, I'd like to see it! Because you asked for it. Glued 4 coffee stirrers together. Lines are going to be my cut points. I used a quarter to make the bend. Small square for the bottom of the door.
