Jabberwocky
It's been a few months, but I finally got something off the workbench. Rather clean for an ogress, but then she thinks she's high society... The problem is, genetics don't bode well: As always, comments and especially critiques are most welcome! And if you are into that sort of thing... http://www.coolminiornot.com/275721
Lord Karick
Particularly like the tartan, the tattoos and the runes on the horn.
Ayrphish
Love them both. Great work. As opposed to Karick, I actually like the first one better. A 'clean ogre' is different, but I kinda like it. Maybe its the just picture, but does the second one have one 'cloudy eye?'

Maybe its the just picture, but does the second one have one 'cloudy eye?' You are correct, sir. The ogress shaman I painted a few years back and decided to make her the old tribal shaman type, complete with the one cloudy eye.
Inarah
Nice work on both of them. I like the juxtaposition of young and old in the models. The green skin on the first one is particularly nice.
fieldarchy
I like the new one. That's definitely a nice paint job. Looks like blends are still a bit raw in places but that's fixable.
Jabberwocky
Thanks! The shamaness was done quite a few years ago--I'd be worried if she was the same quality as the new one! @Inarah--the skintone is RMS Green Ochre Triad with some Blue Liner added for shading and Yellowed Bone for the highlights. @FA--I agree the face, neck, and breasts could use a few more glazes now that you mention it... fieldarchy
@FA--I agree the face, neck, and breasts could use a few more glazes now that you mention it... Yup, you got it! But that's an easy fix if you want to fix it. But that's the only crit I could come up with. Otherwise you are doing very well and one of the forum lurkers has mentioned how well you are doing with your painting.
Mclimbin
Very nice greenskin, Jabbs. I like that you chose a cleaner style for her, as she is obviously one haughty troll. You can tell by the tilt of her head. No, I didn't just say she is a hotty. If I were to give any criticisms, I'd say to give the fur and wood a few more light glazes. I'm not sure what it is, but the extreme highlights on both kind of clash with the naturalness of the skin. If you can call a bright green skin natural. Heh. Actually, maybe the problem is they are all highlighted to the same degree, and there should be some shading of those near whites. Maybe some different tints too? Sorry, didn't mean to write a dissertation, it just took me a minute to work out what I wanted to say. And I don't believe in editing. Kannan Fodder
Nice work on weathering/aging the ax. The freehand on the tartan is good too. The "clean" one almost looks like she could be a PC. Her leather leggings are very good. Nice details on the tattoos. Maybe it's me, but I think the brighter highlights on the skin tie in well with the bright highlights on the club and fur of her top. They look "high contrast". Of the two, I do like her better. Great job, tho. Keep up the great work. ~M
Whizard Hlavaz
Amazing work. So beautiful. Congrats on two really lovely pieces. The green skin is amazing. Your blends are beautiful. And such nice detail. Me likes-ee very much.
JimL
Great stuff, especially like the metal work on the cleaver.
odinsgrandson
The newer one shows a good amount of improvement. Especially, it looks as though you've improved your ability to paint higher contrast with smooth blending. Nice work. I am curious about one thing, though. How did you paint the metal on the Ogress Shaman? The wear and rust on the meat cleaver is really nice.
Jabberwocky
Thanks everyone! @Mclimbin--good thoughts. I added some green to the club, but perhaps it needs a bit more to tone it down a bit. The fur as well is relatively bland with the gray/brown. I did use some blue liner for the deeper shading but perhaps some reddish hints may add a little more interest. Thank you! @KF--Thank you! @Whiz--glad you like it. Now get to work ! @JimL--thank you! @Odin--I've have to got back and look up the recipe. It may have come up in discussion when I had originally posted it a few years back, but I can't remember for sure. I'll get back to you.
