Anastrianna
Nicely done! I love it!
Warlady
Absolutely awesome! Beautiful, subtle colors and a very creative base (love the use of Barbie hair as grass!) A great piece and an inspiration to get me back to painting my own dragons. Thanks for the WIP and the finished pics!
dks
Lovely. I really like the rich nuances of color that you've achieved with the "black" scales and the "black" back-frill and the "drab" wings -- I'm seeing purples and blues and even a hint of olive green (but maybe that's just a complement dark-yellow to the purple). If it isn't already out of your hands, I would brighten the eyes a little -- adding a pure-white sparkle could do it -- so they'll command more attention. (Sorry that I missed your WIP thread and didn't comment before you called it finished, but thanks for the link to the thread.) Derek
cookjimjr
Completely the most awesome Dragon I have ever seen, MG. Looks just as I would imagine a black dragon to look like. Reminds me of the Forgotten Realms Black Dragon "ShimmerGloom". Just beautiful.
Mercius
Holy cow Joy!!! This is one of the best dragons I have seen in a long time. You don't see too many black dragons, so it is nice to see. Bravo!
MamaGeek
Wow, thanks for all the compliments, everybody! I'm glad you like him! @Derek: It's already on my friend's desk at work, so too late for the eyes. I'll keep it in mind if I ever paint another dragon (if I do, it won't be for a LOONG time. This one was a lot of work!) There are a lot of colors blended together on there. I love working with color, and black would be so boring without it! One thing the photos don't show at all is the Water Effects on the base. The entire middle area is "wet," with puddles here and there covering up some of the treasure. I don't know why the camera wouldn't capture it.
yani
Beautiful work! I love everything about it - the scales, the base, the wings especially. It's amazing that you can use so many colours to get this effect. I'm incredibly envious of your ability there.
sgtoku
This is fantastic. I really like the overall look you gave it. The scales are highlighted nicely and the base is really well done!

olliekickflip
Very nice! You have really developed into quite a painter...I always enjoy looking at your work!
Krztoff
Good work on this. He looks good in black, and I like the blue highlighting you did on the scales. If I were to make any suggestions it would be to slightly brighten the bony bits, but not by much, since black dragons do have a thing for swamps, which aren't really known for being clean places. Darkstar
I like the uniform color scheme there, very "realistic" (had to put realistic in quotes because we're talking about Dragons which may or may not be real, the jury is still out on that.) Love the base, quite impressive overall!
