cookjimjr
Hey Again, Thought I would share the latest finished commission piece. On this one the overall theme request was that it be painted as a Dark Elf with a Blue & Violet Scheme. Actually there is another figure with this commission that I could have used those colors for, but the customer also wanted one with a Red & Violet scheme. I like how it came out, but I am sure there are some areas that may need work. I tried to avoid flat out Pure White, but there are a few spots used here and there especially on the Gold NMM. The Blue armor may not be highlighted to most peoples tastes, but I was going for that effect. The face came out great and portrays his evil character very well. I do have to credit the sculpt a lot on this mini, because it was fairly easy to paint. Very smooth lines and not overloaded with small details. Comments and Critique always welcome.
Ddot
Very cool. The skin is perfect. How did you do it?
Jabberwocky
Nicely done blend on the cape. The face came out extremely well! The NMM gold looks good, although IMHO the shading could be taken deeper.
Pyromaniac605
Looks great, my only gripe being that the cape would look a little better if it was blended across it's entire length (not sure I'm making myself clear here.), other than that I can't fault it, the blue armour looks especially good. Mercius
Great job man, I agree that the gold nmm needs more contrast, minor gripe overall though.

Warlady
Love the blue armor, and his face is excellent. The drow skin tone came out perfectly!
cookjimjr
Very cool. The skin is perfect. How did you do it? Ddot - I actually used Reapers Master Series Dark Elf Skin Triad. I did add a little GW Worm Purple to base skin tone and a little Master Series Pure Black to the Dark Elf Shadow to deepen the shading some. My Camera really did not bring out the contrast that is actually there in Hand. Everything seems bright even when I cut down on the lighting. Maybe I need to filter my light box somemore? I can even tell that the Blues do not have the same contrast either.
cookjimjr
Very nice, smooth paint job. Do you have larger photos? Thanks MG. About the pic size; sorry, I already cropped & resized them all, but maybe prior to wrapping him up to send I can shoot a few more. What size would you like to see them in? cookjimjr
Very beautiful job! I really love the vibrant blues you use. He looks great!! Thanks. If you want to know which blues I used, here is the list: All are Reaper Masters Series Paints; Base coat was Cyan Blue, Shadows are a Midnight Blue and Clear Blue mix, and the Hightlights are varying degrees of True Blue w/Cyan Blue or True Blue with Linen White. Last I hit the very edges with Pure White.

Thanks for the comments, and you are correct; I am not really clear what you mean about the cape. Does it look unblended somewhere? I have only done this little trick twice and maybe it needs more work. If you can point it out a little better I may be able to correct that on the next attempt. Let me know. MaGie
Nice work! The skin is very well done, difficult colour to achieve I think. I love the vibrant blues, stands out great against the gold. I do reflect the other thoughts on the gold NMM. But in the end, it's what you hold in your hand that matters, even if the pictures don't show it that way. Good work.
