CoolAliasHere
So, I know this is a reaper mini, but I am not sure who sculpted it. This was a mini that one of my players is using as his character, Lob. Before you get too critical, understand that I haven't even picked up a brush in about 2-3 years. This was my first attempt at a mini. Hope you like it... oh, my camera-foo is not so good. I have to say, I can really see my errors with a pic. OUCH! Here's to getting better. ps Oh, and I modified it by adding a different bow, and managed to mess the hand up pretty good. Mercius
Werner Klocke or Derek Schubert would be my guess...I will look it up when I get home from work if no one else does by then.
Dr.Bedlam
Taking a picture is one of the surest ways I know to make yourself go, "Oh, jeez, I can't believe I thought THAT was any good! Lookit all the stuff I didn't get right..." That said, that's pretty good for someone who hasn't touched a brush in years. Nice basing, too. haldir
Werner is the sculptor for that, one of my favorites one as well Looks great, I like the fact that you added a bowstring. *oddly this will the halfling ranger mini that will represent the ranger in my RCON Pathfinder game
Warlady
That's a Werner Klocke sculpt. I have him, too. And for not having painted in several years, you did an overall decent job. Keep painting!
Chains
I don't care what anyone else says. That paint job looks great !! =) You took the extra step to base it and add the bowstring, which isn't easy to do period. Kudos !
Ferox
That is a damn fine job for a several-year hiatus. Great work on the base, too, and props on the bowstring. (I've discovered that if you show a stringed-bow mini to gamers, rather than painting nerds like us, they'll be blown away by the bowstring and carry their enthusiasm over to the rest of the paint job.) Can't wait to see more of your stuff.
CoolAliasHere
Thanks for the wonderful welcome. I have to say, having looked through some of the tutorials and seen some of the pieces posted here, I am definitely inspired. I have 4 more character pieces to complete to round out the group. The person I did this one for flipped out on it. You would have thought I was a master painter by his reaction. Granted, he is new to the whole RPG thing, so I am sure that helped. I am looking forward to getting back into my old hobby, and I have a ton of Reaper figs to work on. I will try to take WIPs, though I tend to get pretty focused when I start a project. As a minimum, I will at least post my finished pieces in the hopes of some constructive critique. By the by, basing is something I used to be really good at. I spent a lot of time creating tiles for our WarHammer and 40K games. We started with smaller plates terrain plates that fit together on our 5x10 table. It was fun. I learned some tricks using cork, sand and glue, mini-railroad flock and so on. Again, I thank you all for the warm welcome, and I look forward to being a member of these boards for a long time to come. CAH
