Luethar
Hey all, I have to agree that this was an awesome Con! It was my first ReaperCon and I am not ashamed to say that I am already pre-registered for next year. Just 359 days to go! C'mon ReaperBryan, get that countdown started on the home page! Many thanks to all that made my first ReaperCon the most memorable con I have attended. My thanks to Mike and Dallas from Oklahoma CIty, Joe (the fairy dust cleric), Chris and Cat from San Antonio, and Dr. Bedlam! All of you assisted in making this an awesome experience. I will definitely pay it forward next year! Only request I would make is to get a Subway into the con. For a Vegan like me Sonic don't offer too much! There are only so many tater tots one can eat! Lue. Well, SonicMike is SonicMike for a reason. If her were SubwayMike it'd be a different story. Not trying to bag on your veganism, I'm cool with it. But catering isn't something to easily manage and Mike is a lead head and fan. You can even ask for the Reaper Discount to get 10% off at the Sonic down the street. Been there, used it. Blue, I had no idea that there was fan involvement within the arrangement. If that's the case then leave it as it is and I will plan for it next year accordingly. Just tell SoonicMike to keep those tater tots warm! Lue.

BlueWeasel
Sigh. If only all of us were lucky enough to have such awesome stalkers..... Have you tried Craigslist? Post a pic, daily schedule and a home address and you'll have a gaggle of stalkers in no time. May not be quality, but you'll get quantity! I know Sean had a few burritos sans carne and we had salads available. I love tofu but I do not think I could make much with it. I did have an idea to bring my rice cooker and have steamed rice available as an alternate choice. Anyway, before next year, I would love to hear suggestions and we will see what we can get done. Thanks to Ed, Dave, Matt, Bryan, Ron, Anne, and all the Reaper folks who are too many to name individually for another great ReaperCon. Thanks to each and every one of you for making it a fun convention to attend for myself and the folks that came to help work it with me. Reaper is like a great big family, albeit dsyfunctional one, and I always enjoy seeing all of you guys. Thanks, Sonic Mike (aka Mike Clark)

Dr.Bedlam
...crap in a hat. Lue, how many Sonic Drive Ins can you think of that would even TRY to accomodate a vegan diet? THIS ONE'S A KEEPER!
Sonic Mike
...crap in a hat. Lue, how many Sonic Drive Ins can you think of that would even TRY to accomodate a vegan diet? THIS ONE'S A KEEPER! Normally I would not like to hear "crap in a hat" and Sonic Drive-in in the same breath but I understand where the good (term used liberaly) doctor was going with that. Like Reaper, we aim to please!!
Anne
This was my first ReaperCon and it was TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! It was a great time getting to meet so many wonderful people! Without exception everyone was very friendly and easy going, a really great vibe. Now I have to try and make the mental connections of faces, rl names, and forum names argh! I loved every minute of it! I loved having painting buddies,(normally I paint by myself, ronery) and all the classes (I took 2 a day, bravely turning my brain to mush, but I took notes!) were EXCELLENT! I highly recommend everyone of them! I have to get some gaming time in next year, was so busy with classes, I owe one of the GMs a Star Wars game, my apologies for missing it! Seeing the inner workings of the casting process was awesome too (I now have an angry naked ogre to get to work on, rawr!). Also being able to see such beautiful painting in person, and get to meet the painters who created them was out of this world!! I spy a thank you thread too, so not sure where to say thanks and all, but this was an absolutely fantastic experience! I can tell alot of love and time went into everything! Walking in the front door was really cool, the hall was decorated to look like a ancient temple set from Indiana Jones, and this was right next door to the Reaper store, quite a dangerous place haha! Seeing the gallery of painted minis was awesome too, and very inspiring! Also in the artists area, everyone set up examples of their work to display, and it was really impressive, I felt very lucky to get to see their work in person, WAY better than photos!! And all of the artists were very friendly and willing to share their time and advice! The adoption table was also a dangerous place too, definitely a siren song! Also I gotta say in the convention booklet, I LOVED the flavor text descriptions for all the artists and staff members! Great writing! Also the Sonic coffee was very good! Thank you everyone at Reaper for making this such an awesome and memorable experience!!
Luethar
Sonic Mike, Thanks for the note. I had no idea that you had this arrangement the way you did. I thought it was just a contract or something. Vegan options can be challenging to create. Vegans and vegetarians differ in that vegans will not consume anything with an animal protein. This includes milk, eggs, dairy, meats, fish, mayonnaise (sorry.. its true)or cheese for some examples. Vegetarians will consume products with eggs and cheese, vegans will not. Mine is a diet for health reasons, not because I feel animals shouldn't die to feed us. I say kill the cow and make it a steak... I just cant eat the steak. The weekend of the con I survived on your tater tots. I think that it would be cost prohibitive for you to invest in a vegan or vegetarian menu for the con. I can just plan accordingly next year. I only mentioned Subway because they do make a vegetarian sandwich as well as meat products for the carnivores. No worries. I can see the fans of the con do appreciate your set up. I did too. I just thought it was worth mentioning. I didn't mean to offend or insult. Thanks for all you do Mike! Lue.
Reaperbryan
Mike was in a D&D game with Matt and Jay (Akela and Jaelie, on the forums). ReaperCon 1's worst feature was lack of convenient food that wasn't hot-plate hotdogs and Walmart veggie trays. Enter Sonic Mike. He was a big Reaper fan, knew us from gaming with us, and offered to set up his workers and a temporary serving area. It was a refreshing change to have the service, and we know he does it out of his love for us and the industry that is his hobby, too. Shakandara
I think all I had from Sonic this year was soda and ice, but even for just that I was thankful for having them there. The pellet ice kept me in cold water the whole con, which I sorely needed to stay cool and hydrated from being sick. Mike, you and your staff rock, as always. ~v Edited May 25, 2011 by Shakandara
BlueWeasel
I want a gallon of that habanero sauce Sonic has. Best thing I've put on a burger in ages! Would love to glaze a burger while I was grilling it with that stuff.
vutpakdi
Mike and his staff always do a great job for the con attendees given that they are working in a temporary setup. Thank you for taking the time and effort to serve us food. Ron PS: My favorite memory of a few cons ago was one of the sonic girls killing zombies with the best of them in the original Reich of the Dead.
