"That Guy"
I just had a few really good lessons from Jen Kaufman regarding photography and photoshop. She worked wonders! I hope everyone enjoys!
Ddot
54mm eh... Very nice use of freehand on an otherwise well-painted model.
Jay
Very smooth! That should go in a case someplace to be protected!
Midnight Lurker
I just had a few really good lessons from Jen Kaufman regarding photography and photoshop. She worked wonders! I hope everyone enjoys! Thanks for the prop Martin, but all I did was give you a tip on white balancing. You did the rest on your own. You're the one with the Photoshop skills! I don't know how to do fancy stuff like cropping out and replacing the back drop. maybe I should take lessons from you! Very nice work again Martin. 54mm minis can be a bear to blend by hand but it looks like you handled it well. I can't tell what the pattern is on the freehand in the back... I'd really like to see Monique on a subtler backdrop. This vibrant textured blue is fighting for dominance with the blue on her armor, and sorry to tell you this but the backdrop is winning! JimL
Beautiful, excellent armor and the freehand is awesome.
EldarCorsair
Awesome blending and the Elvish(?) runes make this piece really stand out!
Heisler
I agree with Jen the background is really fighting with the mini. I would go grey in the back so that she stands out and everyone can really see the paint job.
Ironhammer
I remember this one, and I thought she was just awesome! Is the writing sanskrit?
cookjimjr
Regardless of the background this is the most beautiful version of this I have ever seen. Your blending and free hand are super. The color choices are fantastic. One day I hope to blend like that. Keep up the good work.
Prophet
I have been wanting to see the 54 mm painted up by someone for sometime. She looks great!! The freehand is awesome!
"That Guy"
Thanks everyone. I kind of figured that the background would fight it a bit, but as I was playing around, I only had the blue one. Jen, it really is a real background. I have no idea how to chop a background into a photo. I'll do another couple of photos with a grey background. The freehand on the back kinda ran away from me a bit. I'll attach a photo of the reference that I used for it. The writing is sanscrit. The blending was an interesting challenge to be sure! I'll take a couple more shots tonight on a grey background and see how that turns out!
"That Guy"
This is what I used as a reference for the back of the cloak. As you can tell, it's bit complicated! I think it got lost in the folds of the cloak a bit, and I cannot photograph it fully because of that.
Clever Crow
Very nice piece. Could not really see the detail work in person during reaper con due to the way they were displayed. Very impressive! Love the sanscrit! You are a superstar!

Jubilee
I agree about the background. I'd suggest a gray. The freehand on her forehead was interesting, but I was wondering what you were intending to be going on ? Is it just evil-vampire-face or something else?
