Inarah
From behind the ogre Isha attacks with her staff. She sweeps the end up, aiming for a vital spot, only to have the creature move at the last possible moment, causing her to miss. d20=
haldir
Ogre win round #2 He swings (random rolling).......at Bodyguard!!! He misses pitifully thou, almost stumbling over his own feet (rolled a 3).......... Chara, Bodyguard & Isha all miss the ogre. Apparently his unorthodox attack swings protects him further damage...........until.. Elmo swings his axe!!! He strikes for 7 pts!!!! Elmo's blow is enough to bring the ogre down to one knee where he falls to the ground, twitching a bit before gasping one last breath........ COMBAT OVER! VICTORY!! Tiron, you nimbly attach the armor back into place. Shad, seein that someone might need his assistance rushes over to the barred door. There is a bar that goes across the door & into the wall, which he pulls back but as he pulls on the ring, the door holds. Locked!
styates
Noticing that the ogre is no longer a threat and that Shad has encountered a problem, Tironian makes his way over to the door and asks if his assitance is necessary.
Inarah
"If Shad's pure awesomeness cannot cause the door to become opened, are you sure you can help?" Isha says with a smile. Then, while the two of them figure out the door, she spends some time examining the contents of the room more closely. Well, not the stew pot, she doesn't want to get too close to that. haldir
"I'm reserving it for a more awesome door later." Shad says with a big grin to Isha. "Well if you can jimmy this lock or find a key, you could be a big help." "We have someone behind this door." Shad says to Tiron (not sure if you've made yourself known as a thief yet or not). Isha You take the room in more closely. What was on the table appears to be human or what was left of it. The ogre has disembowled & mangled the body so much you can't tell if it was a man or a woman. The 'bed' the ogre has is mostly old clothes & skins but you do fine a small cloak of elven design that appears it might be useful (It's a forest green color & has a embroidered oak tree design in the left bottom corner). The chest isn't locked but the lid is kinda stuck. With some effort you get the lid open & it pops off & falls to the floor. The contents thou leave a bit less then desired results: Worthless glass beads 2 brass candlesticks (tarnished so bad that they might bring in a couple coppers) & other trash 823 cp, 46 sp, & 3 gp As noted before there are 2 leading from this room. The cell door that Shad & Tiron are at & the other door. Cory & Elmo wander around the room trying to find secret doors & other features not visible to the naked eye but do not find anything. Spike
Chara searches the ogre's body for a key first. If she finds none there, she will begin searching the room starting from right near the locked door with the window.
Inarah
Isha shakes out the cloak to make sure it hasn't got any spiders or other critters inhabiting it, and thinking it might be wanted later in the cool and damp underground environment, tucks it away in her pack. She will scoop up any other valuables and coins and offer it to the cleric, since he wanted some loot to carry. :) She will pause near the mutilated corpse and say a short prayer for the deceased so that the spirit can rest. haldir
As Tiron & Shad discuss the door. Chara searches the dead ogre for a key. Grant he may be dead but damn that smell that comes off is almost enough to drop a person where they stand. Luckily Chara is use to dealing with this type of people (the short lived halfling that joined the party early it's adventuring party days. He stunk so bad that the elves that the party was sneaking around thought was a orc & shot him dead on the spot!!). Under a flap of hide he wore as a shirt, you find a small key ring attached to a ratty rope with a small dried up foot on the end. It only has 2 keys on it. Either the ogre had limited access to the dungeon or he just didn't have allot, your not sure. Isha You pack the cloak away after shaking out the nasties out of it. Thankfully it was near the bottom of the pile & away from the ogre's body. Cory He pulls out a bag he reserves for coins & puts the money in there & then into his backpack. "Unless we run into a underground store, I highly doubt we will have any use for that down here." he says as he puts it away. As you say the prayer. Cory open a small vial from a pouch & sprinkles it over the corpse, saying a prayer to St Cuthbert at the same time. Elmo He looks around the room but says nothing. He focuses mostly on the other door, just in case something may come through that one.
Spike
"FOUND SOME KEYS!", Chara exclaims enthusiastically, seeming immune to the fact that the 'lucky foot' key fob does not appear to be from the woodland creature traditionally used thusly. She delivers the keys to Shad and Tiron and then stands by to make her sword handy in case whoever or whatever is behind that door proves to be hostile. styates
Tiron graciously takes the keys from Chara and examines them to be sure that they do indeed open the lock. Noticing the waving fingers protruding between the bars and Chara's wary stance, he says loud enough that he hopes whomever is on the other side can hear, "Thank you Chara, but before we open this door we should be sure of who or what is on the other side. We don't know what kind of creature is waving its fingers (or someone else's) at us from behind those bars."
Anastrianna
"These are my fingers, I asure you," comes a female voice on the other side of the door. "And the way I see it, any foe of that beast is a friend of mine!"
haldir
With the tension of first contact. Elmo now focuses on the door, just in case something might be hiding behind that voice. He readies his axe & shield. "Greetings. Yes, the ogre is surely dead. My name is Cory Waterspout. I'm sorta the leader of this ragtag band of people. We hail, or at least for now from the village of Hommlet. Who are you?" Cory says to the stranger behind the door.
Anastrianna
"It is good to meet you Cory Waterspout," comes the voice through the door. "I am Kyana and I too hail from Hommlet of late. I am unarmed and without my spellbook I can do no harm; not even to my foes... I swear by the gods, I mean no harm to anyone who give me aid." haldir
Elmo says to the group "A enemy would not proclaim her weakness to a large group of people, that & her name sounds familiar since I'm actually the one true resident of Hommlet in this party. I say we open it up & get her out of there." Kyana, the voice you hear is one your familiar with, the town drunkard, Elmo. Yet there is a significant change in his voice & demeanor. Also, Isha as you are exploring you do find a batch of adventurer equipment in the room. It was piled into the corner, which included a thick book with a clasp on it. Inarah
"And yet a villain will not always proclaim his true nature, either," Isha says. "Let her out then, and if she is proving to be troublesome then we will be doing to her like we did that Dwarf. " She'll rifle through the adventerer's gear quickly to see if there's anything htat indicates an obviously unsavory nature, then hands it over to the girl.
