Mercius
You sir, have quickly risen into my top 5 favorite painters. I salute you for your style of painting. I strive to achieve your level one day. I have really been practicing pushing my contrast lately and it is starting to sink in. Between work and school I have not had much time to paint though. When I do post something I hope to get a critique from you. My fav. is of course, the dwarf...but I really do love them all. I love the colors and especially the freehand..it can be a little busy at times, but really adds a lot to the character of each mini I think. Cheers and thanks for sharing. Darkstar
Well Mercius you've improved with great speed since I first saw your painted pieces, what that means to me is that all the things you're focused on learning are sinking in and taking hold so keep at it, never stop learning and practicing. I'm always continually trying to improve myself with painting and never will stop learning and hopefully getting better slowly, I think I am at least always learning new things though. Speaking of learning new things lately I've learned I really really like the new(ish) Citadel washes. Not for washing, well that too for certain things, but for enhancing and deepening shaded areas and adding quick interest in color without much work because they work so nicely out of the bottle. Mix some Reaper Clears with the Citadel Washes for amazing glazes that take all the guesswork out of the process.
scotty kahn
Wow! those are very impressive. I have a lot of those exact old sculpts and they are not the most detailed in the world to be sure. So, seeing them this well done is doubly impressive. Thanks for sharing.
joshuaslater
Thanks for the aggregate shot!!! I know the "not worthy" feeling that comes when you see awe inspiring painting, but these have got me thinking of trying to up my game just a little bit, with some time, patience, and practice. Kings to you!! P.S. I'll be following the blog when it's up and running.

Stern Kestrelmann
Two words: Swirl Master. The elf's cloak is superb! Hey, nice comp shot too. Thank god they don't sculpt 'em like that anymore! SK
