"Battle of Orc's Drift" Scheduled for Hurricon - SEP22-25 in Orlando FL

Recommended Posts

Game Description: "The tribes of the Monglash Steppes are uniting at an alarming rate beneath the banner of the savage bull orc Khakhan, Chief of Chiefs, Varaug. The alliance of ogre, beastman and orc threatens the Eastern expansion of Taltos into the furtile lands beyond the Ash mountains. In an effort to pacify the region an Army was dispatched to make all haste through the Northern pass. Duke Gerard, eager to be the vanguard of any crusade raced towards the pass where he stopped for a brief respite at a small mission. There he was greeted by the chilling news that Varaug and his Akhpakh Khoolaylan, Great Reven, had decimated Taltos’s forces and was making haste toward the mission, bent on taking the fight to the West. Never one to surrender land when there was a chance of victory, the Duke set upon hastily fortifying the small settlement against attack. Will the historians of Adon look back at the stand as foolish or fortuitous?"

The game is set in the "spirit" of the Battle of Rorke's Drift in an effort to support the con's theme in a Fantasy setting. The scenario will put at least one Troop in the hands of each player. The first playtest of the game was a LOT of fun as it is designed to get the action going very quickly. We will be tweaking it even further to ensure that each Troop can contribute to the fight and that there is truly that feel of desperation as the defenders attempt to hold the line!!

P.S. - I am aware that the game description may not be 100% in line with the material on the background setting, but had to take some liberties to make it fit with the convention theme. Forgiveness/understanding appreciated!!
