odinsgrandson
Finally painting some of my own Space Hulk stuff. I'm trying to really bring out the complexity of the mini here. Whether I succeeded is always yours to decide. And I put him up on Cool Mini for those of you who care to vote.
Mercius
The whole thing is beautiful...except the sword...just not digging it at all...the rest is top notch, especially the red armor...WOW!
MamaGeek
Beautiful work, as always! You definitely have succeeded in drawing out the figure's complexity. I agree with Mercius that the sword isn't as good as the rest, but I wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't brought it to my attention. I'm a bit surprised that you basing isn't more elaborate, too. I would think that if you put in enough effort to do such an incredible job as you have, that you'd put him on something more scenic. Lovely! Orionjp
Love this mini, but then again I'm a huge marine head. Also I agree with the sword, also curious why you made it look damaged. Doesn't quite match.
Jay_Bizzle
I'm going against the grain on this one, I liked the sword. I do have to agree that I would have liked to see a better base, something to match the Space Hulk theme.
odinsgrandson
You know, I hadn't even thought about altering his base. Since I do use him to play Space Hulk, I did not put him on a larger base. I could probably add something, though, and still make him playable. I'll consider this. Wumby
For me I like the sword too, but it appears more of a stone sword than a NMM sword. Just my perspective, it's still fantastic.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it; that's what's bothering me about the sword. The blends are nice and smooth, but the placement seems a bit off -- in the middle of flat areas rather than across implied transitions. That, coupled with the lack of contrast (medium-light grey to medium-dark grey rather than black to white) and the muted colours used on the sword compared to the gorgeous rich reds that dominate the armour, make it a bit hard to notice. The armour, though, is amazing. Can we see some shots from the right and back? I wouldn't mind a look at the other shoulder pad.
odinsgrandson
Well, those are the shots I have right now. If I get more, I'll post them for you.
Darkstar
My current favorite GW minis are the space hulk termies always nice to see one painted with a person's own take on the minis. Nice burgandy reds.
Stern Kestrelmann
Sweet stuff man. Having painted this entire Space Hulk box in 2009, I can appreciate every stroke you made on this model. My only little nit-picks, the gun barrels are too small and a little uneven. Also, do you plan to base the model? I really think it would give the model a bit more of a finished look. Love your version of Lorenzo! The Emperor Protects. SK
odinsgrandson
Also, do you plan to base the model? I really think it would give the model a bit more of a finished look. I was not planning on basing the minis until I started reading the responses I got on here. Now, I'm wondering what I would do with basing on them. They would still need to be playable, and that precludes any size round bases that could possibly be right for them. Did you base yours in a way that keeps them playable? If so, I'd love to see what you did with them.

Stern Kestrelmann
Well, I used 40mm round bases and the biker bases for the odd shaped bug models. I sold the entire set to an avid Space Hulk Player out East. He reported no problems with playability... Here's a few shots I found in the archive. Hope that helps... Foxden Racing
The guy in red strongly reminds me of Borderlands' General Knoxx...
