Egyptian Priestess and Baboon

Hi all,

 

I'm new to the Reaper Forums and I wanted to share a few of my recent painting projects. I did this Egyptian Priestess the other day. This is my first attempt at painting sheer fabric, which is a technique I've long admired in other people's work. I'm reasonably happy with this first try, and I look forward to improving on it.

 

This was also my first experience with the Reaper MSP High Density flesh colours. I base coated with Sunburn Flesh, then highlighted with Suntanned Flesh, and finally Suntanned Flesh mixed with a bit of MSP Tanned Skin. I've got to say that I'm loving the HD paints that I've tried so far; they are so easy to work with. Now I must have them all.

<Edit>: Yikes, the camera certainly shows glaring errors that were not apparent to the naked eye; back to the paint table for touch-ups!

Very nice sheer effect. I like the baboon's little vase too. You could have made the baboon brass though... ;-)

Nice work! Solid colour selection, clean transitions, and as mentioned the sheer fabric is very well done.

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words. I'm working on Nalani, Dancing Girl at the moment, to continue practicing the sheer fabric effect, and I suspect I have many dancing girls ahead of me before I get the technique down. How awful for me ;)
