The BW was plush, but I think the Quality Inn we stayed at in previous years had a better breakfast buffet. (included bacon, among other things) There was a promo price for Reapercon last year if you called the hotel directly and booked, not online or through the BW 800 number. Work has an annual "tech fest" in May and I can't know if there's going to be any hard deadlines that will overlap. Barring those I should be there. Yeah!! Good to hear you planning on being there. As well as Vejilin as well. That 21 day rate was the cheapest last year. It wasn't by much maybe 5 - 8 dollars but hey every dollars counts I guess when your on vacation. I've got a pretty awesome local con in Feb or I'd offer it up to the chopping block as well. (and I guess there's my son's birthday at the end of Feb...I guess that is kind of important) I propose we discard these interfering months to speed the process along. Jubilee Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 2. Most of us stay at the Lake Dallas Best Western, up off IH-35; it's closest, and that's where the artists hang. This artist doesn't so much hang at the hotel as collapse into bed when we're done hanging at Reaper HQ and then far too few hours later struggle out of it again. I do spend a few minutes eating breakfast and trying to summon coherence at the hotel before returning to Reaper HQ. With the kids in school, we get the spring stuff with them which for my daughter means tennis matches for my son we have............well we have spring stuff (he doesn't partake in anything after-school). Thou we do have his school's spaghetti feed fundraiser which is a neat day for the family. Feb brings about my daughter's birthday. To be honest I think the month of April is the one I could lose & not worry about it. It's the month when the weather starts to warm up but still has the cold clinging a last few times & such. Thou last year our spring didn't finally go away till mid-June soooo heck what do I know about the seasons!! I've become a big fan of the Warlord game and Reaper Minis in general. I bought a starter army for Warlord after the Dragon's Night Out game at GenCon last year. Can someone help me with some questions? What goes on at the Con? What is the nearest airport? Which hotel is closest since I will be need to cab around? Is it worth going for the full 4 days or is Sunday a wind down sort of day? Sorry for so many questions. I'd be coming in from Ontario, Canada. It is a bit expensive but I'd love the chance of meeting some new Reaper fans and learn more about the company. Thanks for you help, eh? Sunday afternoon has the auction! I missed it last year but you collect Reaperbucks throughout the Con and then get to spend them for items of worth (minis, tickets to next year's con, etc).
