ReaperCon 2012

More or less, money. I mainly use my half of the tax refund for majority of the trip. I just want to do other things with it. I'd like to hit the Oregon Coast again, as I haven't been over on that side of the state since '07 + got some computer upgrades I'd like to do + house stuff. Heck the list could on & on.

I'd like to go up to Seattle or Bellevue for PaizoCon this year but I just can't swing both trips. I may try & do that next year.

'12 won't be my last ever just my last one for now, as I don't think I could ever say goodbye forever to RCon & the whole trip to & from my house & Reaper itself.

I'm hoping to try out ReaperCon for the first time this year.

I had a great time at the few of the Reaper-based painting / sculpting I've managed to squeeze in between other events at Gencon over the last few years. If I can find the time and money, I'd like to visit the source!

It sounds like all I can do for now is book travel and hotel for May, and wait for registration to open up. Is that correct?

Ahoy fellow painter´s,

For the first time i will come to ReaperCon and cannot hide how anxious I am. I already bookmarked my vacations, bought my ticket and will flew from São Paulo - Brazil to meet the event.

I was wondering about with hotel to stay, but looks like the BW is the place to be :-) The taxes are little more than I intend to expend, but if I can get some rides to and back from the event, I can save in renting a car LOL.

Hope to meet new friends, attend to the classes and learn a lot from the pro´s. I really like to take this opportunity to improve my painting.

If there is any good soul, willing to help a fellow foreign painter to find himself in Dallas, I will be more than grateful.

Best regards

rides to & from the hotel are no problem, heck every year I've gone it's been riding with someone. If your lucky, hopefully you can hook up with someone at the airport for a ride as a taxi can get expensive, costs around 100 dollars (I've had to do that one year ughhh).

As the event gets closer post when your plane will arrive & hopefully someone will get at the same time you are.

I'm planning on coming this year, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Just have to sit down with the boss and block of my vacation time for the year...

Also, will probably be looking for a roommate and/or someone to share the cost of a rental car with if that can be arranged...

Can't wait to see you all again!

Katie

Since you've been my pick up at the airport the last couple years, I'd be willin to help yah with the rental, at least for Weds. ::D:

Not sure if I mentioned but like others I'll be looking for a roomie as well. As I said I got the room at $384.15 for Weds to Monday for the Con.

Morning all,

I'm flying in on the Wednesday and have a rental car. I will post later when I'm supposed to arrive as I'd be happy to give people a ride to the hotel. I'm traveling on my own to this con and am looking forward to making some new friends.

Especially if you are going to GenCon.

On a totally different note, does anyone else play Warlord. We love this game up here in my club. The question I have is how hard-nosed are people about the base size? We use the base size rules for determining game effects but will put models on larger bases if it doesn't seem like the model fits on the perscibed base. It is not for any advantage but for aesthetics., eh?

Wow, how full does the hotel get? Like, if I'm thinking of going, do I need to make my travel plans and commitments now, or risk the hotel being full if I wait until closer to the date to make reservations? I'd also be travelling alone, flying in, needing to rent a car, etc.

Well figure this in, the time for ReaperCon is also the same time as local high schools & colleges for their graduation (or at least around that time). I know the hotel parking lot is always full except the far reaches of the parking stalls when I come back to it after each day at Reaper HQ.

For the tournament, they will need to be on appropriate sized bases. For a friendly game, it's up to the individual.
