MiniCannuck
1000 point lists sound great. Kuro - I'm pretty new too at the Warlord game. I'm hoping there would be a few of us at the hotel Wednesday that will want to play some more casual games. I normally don't play in tournaments. In my area, tournaments normally means cheese and over competative people. I love playing games but I am more of style army builder than substance. That being said, my group has not been able to find any broken combinations so far and things have been quite even with win/losses. I can't wait for my first ReaperCon!
Inarah
The tournament last year was not too bad. Most of the people who show up to play are really nice people. I would like to see some non-tournament games, but only because the tournament takes ALL DAY Saturday and 8-9 hours of gaming is exhausting. Captain Murray
Any chance to play a Warlord match without having an army for myself? It´s my first Con and here in Brazil, this kind of game are not very popular. You guys are talking so much about this game That I´m pretty curious. Stubbdog
@nytflyr : yes swisher @MC, I, and LM : I am sure we can arrange for some non-Tourney related games. That really is more of a question of just getting people while they are not in classes are participating in one of the other activities of RCon than anything else. I know I gave out about 6-7 demos last year before and after the tourney. And Tim Peaslee always runs his theme tables. They are not straight up Warlord battles, but they use the Warlord ruleset. Very fun games to participate in and learn the game at the same time. @MC : Over the past 3 years we have averaged between 20-30 Warlord players for the tourney. Hopefully over time it will grow a bit, but either way, it is all good cause the people that have come have had a good time and had good games. I would say that each year it breaks down to roughly equal parts of seasoned vets and relative newcomers. To work with Con guests and their class schedules, we implemented for the first time last year the two day Tourney. Meaning you could play either day, whichever fit your schedule better. I think it worked out well and would guess that we will probably do the same again this year. @LM : As I noted above, I have given out plenty of demos during the RCon week, and would be happy to do more this go round. I usually provide the minis when doing the demos, so you are all good there. Just make sure to hit me up as we get closer to time so we can work out a time that works for both of us. That and tell me which factions draw your eye the most so I can see if I have something to match...
Captain Murray
Thank´s for the attention Stubbdog, Can´t wait to be at the Con and check it out the game. As soon as I pick the classes I want to attend, we can talk and work out a time to play. I always fond for undead armies, but I was checking more details regarding Warlords, and the Mercenaries sounds pretty cool to. we talk more later, best regards
Stubbdog
By the way, Dawn, did you see that I sent you a private message a while back related to an earlier post you made in this thread?
haldir
If it says Lake Dallas then your good to go. I know there are 2 that are relatively close to each other
Kuro Cleanbrush
@ Fruggs: Thanks! I was worried that the point total might be upped to 1,500 or something like that, but I'm glad my fear was unfounded. It turns out that there is more than enough stuff on Reaper's websites and YouTube posts to get a really good feel for the game (plus, I'm no noob to miniature battles games), but you're right, I should definitely get the rulebook soon. I was just holding off on buying it as a way to kind of motivate myself to paint more miniatures for my army. I wanted to reward myself for getting a good start on the army. @ Mini Cannuck: I'm totally up for some friendly games! My hometown doesn't have ANYONE who plays Warlord in it, so I don't really know what I'm doing, but it'll be fun nonetheless! Also, I too am more of a style than substance army builder. MiniCannuck
Sounds like there will be some gaming opportunities at the hotel. Note to self: pack lots of Red Bull
vutpakdi
Note to self: pack lots of Red Bull There's a grocery store and a Walmart within a few minutes drive. No need to pack Red Bull. Finding someone interested in a pick up game is pretty easy. Finding a *table* to play it on may be harder on certain days. Ron

Ron lol, I guess I hadn't thought of that, but that's a very good point. I guess I will just have to play using a proxy table, like say... THE SLAIN BODIES OF MY ENEMIES!!! (Somehow I'm thinking that won't work out too well... )

One or two gamers are all you would need for a 4x4 table. ... put me down for at least half of one
cutebutpsycho
MiniCannuck-one might THINK one would only need a gamer or two, but the crowd that attends reapercon is quite different from your average convention crowd. Higher percentages of families, women, married couples, and even individuals who look like they might go take a jog between rounds of the tourney.
