Bones You'd Like To See

A variety of thrones and throne room materials (tables, coffers, pillar stand-ins, etc.) would be cool in Bones. Along with temple, dungeon, sewer and more locales. Could be a giant side-line of Bones.

You could then create sub-culture lines under each. Dark elf, giant, orc, human, etc.

I have to concur on more furniture-type accessories (even though I love the new HA molds). While a lot of hobbyists and modelers are here, the majority of gamers (in my experience) want to plonk down some cool looking stuff and go to town. Having to scratchbuild 30 bookshelves for a wizard's library gets old quick. Especially without those nice expensive micro power tools.

I'd love to see a Bones version of one of the metal figures Reaper currently has which come on a throne, whether the Drow queen on a throne (02577), Dragoth the Defiler (02056 or 30010), etc.

30010 was a stretch goal at one time, but he was pushed to make space for Kaladrax. I'd like to see him myself, though we worry about the game utility of that fig.

A worthy sacrifice. I too am in need of 'throned' figures, good and evil and it seems I am not the only one. However, after all we have learned from the KS Saga, I totally understand what you are saying.

Someday I do hope for 30010 and 30008 to make an appearance.

Maybe even a good king & queen on throne, too.

Or just a good throne, with Optional King or Queen!

Or a good throne, with a slacker layabout prince lounging in it. (Or the evil vizier usurper that just stole the good throne)

I know others have already said this but I also want to throw out a vote for animals. Tons of animals. I'd love a big selection of animals to give players a lot of choice for animal companions and familiars. I'd certainly get multiples of most animals too for packs of wolves, prides of lions, etc. I'd also like a big selection of prehistoric animals too to run a lost world type setting. I think if the prehistoric animals were as accurate as possible it would also sell really well to non gaming miniature enthusiasts.

Have you seen the CollectA series?

I've looked at a lot of the popular dinosaur lines lately. I didn't realize that The CollectA line was also sold through Reaper though. My problem with the popular Dino lines is that they are almost all 1/40 scale. I'm no expert but from what I could find it looks like for a dinosaur to match up correctly with a 28mm humanoid figure it would need to be almost 1/60 scale. I'm probably just too picky about it. But I still think it would be awesome to have a line of animals, modern to prehistoric, with a lot of variety and know that the scale will always match up.

Purely out of curiosity, what is the chance that any of the potential Bones we've all listed here will become an actual Bones figure? Has the KS helped pave the way to make future Bones easier to add to the line? Or will adding a large number quickly necessitate another Kickstarter? I don't mind that, and would likely be in for another KS. I'm just wondering about how the process was affected by the KS, beyond the figures in the KS itself.

once a year we lock and generate new fan wish threads. We grab the data, and sort it, and then we make decisions. What are the odds of everything In Here making it? 0%. The odds of at least one thing? 100%. Any given thing? I have no idea...

Thanks for the reply, and for the glimpse into the process.

I would really like to see a Gelatinous Cube made of the some of the translucent Bones material. :)

I'm thinking green, though clear would probably more friendly to the lore. If possible, it would be cool to have some bones or otherwise consumed items sitting in the bottom. Perhaps this could be achieved through negative space? Literally have an indent in the bottom in that shape, so when viewed from the outside it appears as nothing more than items down there. That way, if we wanted to, we could just paint the inside of the indent to make only it look solid within.

Assuming my explanation makes sense... :P

I did a Control-F search on all 23 pages of this thread before posting this. Search term was "Giant". It cropped up a lot.

So, I would like to 22nd the motion to do Giants. But I would like to suggest doing something that no miniatures company (that I know of) has ever tried to do.

Narnian Giants. (Narnia as in C. S. Lewis.)

His take on Giants is different from anything else in Fantasy. Those usually fall into three categories: hill, stone, frost and fire. (The Hill giants always look savage, ragged, deformed, and crudely equipped. The last two are always variations on Huge Vikings / Nordic Saga / Icegiant/Firegiants, etc. Anything else, Stone et al., is just reiterating olde tyme 1.0 Monster Manual entries.)

A Narnian giant is part of civilization. Huge and human-like but they might build cities, bridges, or live in castles. They might have scaled up forges and looms. They wear clothes rather than raggedy furs, loincloths, and scraps. They might wield a club but it will be skillfully carved and evenly shaped. Or, fitted with spikes and iron bands by dwarf smiths. (Such a giant will trade labor for high quality objects like that -- they'll set great stones, lift some heavy loads in return for a well crafted piece of kit.) Sometimes they'll have gear that is adapted from re-purposed items like a club that was once a mizzenmast or a set of "scale" armor that is composed of man-size shields.

And they are bigger than the 80mm-ish 'Giants' like the Icingstead guys or Warhammer models.

They are so big that they can bash down a castle gate tower in about ten-minutes work. When they go to war they bring huge iron-shod overshoes (more dwarf work) that are fitted out with lots of iron spikes -- so they can squash horses and cavalry. You say battering ram; they say, 'what, this quarterstaff ??' They are seriously big: stand at the bottom of a cliff and rest their elbows on top big.

Make a giant like that. I don't think anybody has ever done that before.

So you just want a small child, really.
