Darkstar
A very cool sculpt by Patrick Keith for Pathfinder. I was thinking that this cleric was more roguelike than archetypically cleric"ish" in appearance due to the way she was armed and outfitted. I went online and read up on Calistria and found out about her clerics a little and decided to paint her up with a bit of yellow showing as that would be one of the colors the clerics would typically wear. I just really liked the way it turned out with the blue-black hair as that color combo with black isn't very typical but has a nice combination to it I think. Anyway very cool mini I think, had a good time painting her and the paintowork went very quick on this one as a result.
mjacobson
That hair is the standout detail, to me, in this piece of work. Good color choice and good basework. I don't know why I post these comments, you know how talented and skilled you are!
Ironhammer
Really awesome! Is it my imagination, or does her skin have a slight reddish tint to it?
Goblyn
Really awesome! Is it my imagination, or does her skin have a slight reddish tint to it? he likes to paint his minis red http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics16/img4f4eddd4b5617.jpg
Adrift
Another great paintjob! As others have painted out, I'm wondering why she has a significant amount of reddened glow shining onto her. I noticed it on the blades, the gems, her skin, eyes. I also notice it on the front pictures on the base, but then I cannot see the same effect on the base from the rear? I think the base should have some of the same light source? I am curious about the redness. It is obvious, and you're an amazing painter so you get the right effect, but as in the case of your gemstones it feels like it detracts from their beauty and lustre. The same reddish shine also appears to be missing from the silver ring, her belt ring. When I look at her bra, I see the top of the bra glowing red as if her eyes are the source of the light. But then the bottom edge of the blades have the reddish glow as if an alternate source of the reddish light which isn't reflected along the bottom edge of her bra. As I stated, I think you're an amazing painter, but the reddish glow makes me confused on this particular miniature.
joshuaslater
That Cleric is a temptress. I'd follow her anywhere.
Darkstar
Hey guys thanks for commenting, I always read everything that's posted here on these threads and get a total kick out of it for sure! Regarding the red cast on the front shots I think I had a spotlight aimed at the mini for those two that wasn't turned on on the back two. The reason I think that's going on is that I can see it reflected on the base on the front two shots. I typically take a ton of photos of each piece and take the ones that came out the best and use those for the combined final shot. Sometimes the light gets changed in the photos if I'm having a hard time capturing the image. For this one since I used alot of black, I needed to aim the lights in various directions so as to illuminate the darker areas and show the highlighting off since it was getting drowned out. I think it's really evident in the back facing shots since you can compare the two directly. There's no reddish cast since I had the warm spotlight off and...what was I going to say...ah yeah, you can really see the difference in the shadow casting areas there in those two shots. One has a light aimed from above and the other has the same light plus an area light highlighting the shadow casted areas to let some light in there so it doesn't get literally overshadowed. Tricky stuff.
Stern Kestrelmann
YES. You are the master of illusion Sean! On a side note: The sculpt's proportions look off to me, but hey what do I know... SK
Darkstar
I think her legs are overly long and the side of her head where the hair is pushed aside behind her ear makes it looks out of whack a little. I noticed that too. About the long legs though, I think she's supposed to be an elf so maybe kind of lithe/lanky. I like long legs though haha what can I say! Azreck
Superb paintjob! I must say I had trouble seeing this sculpt as a cleric, but I think she would make an amazing rogue.
