Gnome-athon

So out of the six gnomes that I've been working on recently, I've got four of them finished. These are old Ral Partha Julie Guthrie gnomes and they are pretty small. I put in a penny in a photo so you could see a size comparison. I've still got two TSR gnomes I'm working on for the near future. I've got the skin and hair figured out, but I'm a bit stymied on the color for their clothing. These I think are from 1984 as per the bottoms of their bases. Anyway, enjoy!

Thanks much Pingo!  I wish Guthrie would have made more of these back then.  The one thing that is nice is her Grenadier line she did which had a number of hobbits, some dwarves and if I recall one or two more gnomes.  These were with Johnny Lauck as recasts, and I think they went over after wards maybe (?) to Center Stage Miniatures.

Oh wow. I love these gnomes. Great paint job to show them off. How are you painting the skins? That's a lovely coloring and hoping you share the recipe. ^__^

Hi Pcklint,

Not sure if this is still a color you can buy, but my base color was rosy skin.  It belongs/belonged to the rosy skin triad 9723.  It seems that I've kind of become old and set in my ways, so I'd use for gnomes rosy skin as my base, tanned skin for hobbitses, tanned highlight to start my dwarves off, and then usually fair skin highlight for elves.

These are awesome Gnomes, and beautifully painted.

Hmmm, I wonder where I can track down these...I needs me some more Gnomes....

IronWind Metals carries these gnomes.

In fact, it looks like they use Moonglum's paint jobs in their storefront.
