joshuaslater
Those clay shapers rock. I use one just for filling gaps, and feel it's better than dental type tools. 'Can't wait to see more from you.
Hellbeard
Those clay shapers rock. I use one just for filling gaps, and feel it's better than dental type tools. 'Can't wait to see more from you. They are awesome. I need to practice more with them so I can figure out how to use them to my best advantage. Modular gear in place: I've made another practice face. I seriously need to do more. Progress on the bust, still a little bit of way to go.
joshuaslater
The bust is coming along spectacularly. E.T.C. trooper still needs some smoothing, but again, solid progress.

I don't know if there's much more smoothing I can do after it's all cured and stuff. Any particular area? I'll put more emphasis on it with the next guy. Speaking of which. I'm working on making a better face. Making face experiments: Not pleased with smiling lumpy no teeth old man here: Super Sculpey Firm experiment - not great success (But now I'm very curious about the fabled JAG Fimo mixture). Half the time I was working he looked the spitting image of Kevin Bacon for serious you guys. The next phase in face-tech. Make the nose and lips first, the rest after that. We'll see how it goes. joshuaslater
I really like the old man faces you're sculpting. Lots of character there!! Kev White has a green he's working on on the Hasslefree forums and facebook page that looks very similar to the one you're doing. He's an established master in the industry, so after you have a good cry, pick up your tools and keep going!!! You're improving constantly. I told you FIFTY complete sculpts. You're moving pretty quick man.

Hellbeard
Not pleased with smiling lumpy no teeth old man here: That's the one I was really pleased with!! If I do an old folks home set I'll use him; not such a bad idea now that I think of it :D Our regularly scheduled update. Another face. Much more pleasing. Still some things to sort out but I'll just do more practice faces. The brass bit is going to be the cap's bill. Baked busts.
joshuaslater
Woot!! The face with the cap rocks.
Hellbeard
Woot!! The face with the cap rocks. Thanks! :D Added hat and bill under structure. The head is somewhat over sized at around 6mm but this is mitigated by: his mouth is open and his chin is big and manly; he's wearing a HAT; the features are illustrative rather than naturalistic which is better for the scale; it came out nice so I don't want to scrap it. The new experimental under structure for making heads:

Hellbeard
You've levelled up. Again. Stay thirsty my friend. Unfortunately I accidentally clicked the perk "ridiculous nick-name" in the level up screen and now everyone calls me "froindikins" :( I need to make many more practice faces now. Hellbeard
Never mind about the guy with the giant head and cap. We're moving to smaller better things. Namely, guy with attitude(and eyebrows™): Some not so great casts and a miscast primed for painting experiment.
