Fankly, I'd like to go down to one reveal sooner, but you have to manage expectations. if we did it suddenly, with no announcement, people might panic.

Torches and pitchforks, man. Remember, we all have torches and pitchforks. And we know where to find you!

You townsfolk are all alike with your burning and your poking.

Pokey-poke, stabby-stab!

And shouldn't you be off making a new video?

Still don't quite understand the one-reveal thing.

Does it mean one prize per goal, or does it mean only being able to see what the next goal is?

I would think that being able to see the next two goals (like it is now) would make folks more likely to pledge as there are more things that they might be interested in working towards. Of course you might end up with some peeved customers at the end when there are two goals worth of prizes that don't get reached....

Just started poking around here after I saw the Reaper Kickstarter. The Reaper paints on offer on the Kickstarter I'm of course going to order some so the question is just how much paint does it take to paint 130 minis? (I'm pretty new to painting).

Varies emensely. No matter how you do it, 130 miniatures is alot of painting. I do a really simple base colors, a bit of drybrush and dip ( like this: http://chicagoskirmi...ng-for-all.html ) and do it pretty quickly and it's still alot of figs. As an example in a 4 hour painting session with my friends, I was only able to get two colors done on 48 similarly equipped line troops.

I prime 95% of my stuff with liquitex gesso. Personally I think the stuff is a gift from the gods.

I agree, though I use white gesso to get the best effect with the dip which goes better over lighter colors. I used to spray all my minis, but now unless I'm using a colored spray I find it is actually faster to splash on the gesso. Much less prep, and mess and about the same drying time.

IME: you can still use washes, you just need a base coat of color on there first.

washing bare plastic didn't work well for me, but washing over a base color was no problem and in fact something we were encouraging people at PAX East to do.

While you can't do a true wash right on the bare Bones, a paint that's just slightly more watery than usual can sometimes be applied. I tried this with the fur on my bones gnoll warrior. It went on just fine and gave the same fake-highlight effect (lighter coverage on the higher points) that I expect when I apply watery paint over white gesso.

On the other hand, It took two coats of the cheap metallic paint I was using to cover over the bones plastic, so make of that what you will.

On the whole though, I'm really pleased and will probably not be priming many (possibly not any) of my bones figs.

Coffee just kicked in, and I just realized what "one reveal" meant.

This raging headache I got is clouding my ability to divine what this "one reveal" nonsense is.

I think, and remember that as a goblin I don't score well on the INT stat, it means that at some point in the near future Reaper is just going to pull back the curtain and let us see all of it.

All. Of. It.

Heh. I'm having trouble working up the energy to find my pitchfork or torch. It's starting to look like we might hit a second goal today, so I'm just having trouble getting worked up about not getting quite so much free stuff at a time.

At this rate, we might hit three.

No joke. It's hit around, what, $70K up inside of the last 12 hours?

I think the one reveal thing is smart considering we are nearing the end, and seeing as Reaper does not seem to have a final stretch goalline, eventually a goal will not be met in time. Having two unmet goals out there beckoning could turn excitement and joy of the kickstarter into disappointment. Two reveals did their job, smart to begin winding down as the clock ticks.

Hmmm, for me personally, in this instance, I think ignorance is bliss

Well, we've already beaten yesterday's record and the day has barely started. I expect we'll hit the Paint Set 2 goal in the next hour and we've got a good chance of getting the Dark Elves by end of day. Keep it going guys!

The good news for you is that I'm probably wrong.

But I hope at the end we get to see.

We haven't yet; Yesterday was $65K+. We're only at about $59-60K right now (accounting for Kicktraq not having update since around $666K). We will, however, get there. And Soo... nah, not this time either. :;):
