Kickstarter Discussion Thread

Humm...I am extremely impatient and a terrible painter. Maybe these hundreds of new minis will give me something to practice on that won't make me feel bad for ruining :P

By the way, when all is said and done, I would LOVE to see a numbers breakdown on this. how many people pledged X or more, how many of what extras and add-ons were selected, most popular option, etc.

I think it would be fascinating.

It would be funny if they somehow rigged it to never get to 1 mil. Tons of people would be pledging extra $$$ but it would never go up. I guess people would start complaining quite a bit though. xD

Thank you, sir for your respectful response. If only some of the members of your community followed in your example.

Seriously, guys, I SAID I liked them, I just felt let down was all.

It's not the content that bothers me so much. It's a fine addition to the bundle and I get that there's people who want set pieces. I already said I always had a fascination for them and still use my old heroquest pieces. I'll certainly make good use of these and I'm glad they;re in the set.

I'm just saying that for the *level* of the bonus, it seemed like a letdown.

Tables and chairs are cool, but would have been better received (at least by me) at a lower level. When you see huge pledge levels, you naturally expect to see huge rewards.

The dungeon decor is cool, but it;s not huge, it;s not what you expect at that level.

To recap:

I LIKE THE BONUS

I will USE IT

I understand the point of the drive is to increase the line and that means everything, even stuff people may not use or like everything.

I'm GLAD IT'S THERE

I'm happy to see furniture, just wish it had been at a lower levels so the big unlocks could be knock your socks off big, not just "Well, it'll be good to have a table."

All I'm trying to say is that, personally, it felt like a letdown after staring at that gleaming golden horde all month.

Was anyone expecting or hoping for five bits of furnishing to be the sum total of the giant golden treasure pile for passing the 1 million mark?

I was expecting something more like the chronoscope or pathfinder unlock. Some large batch of beautiful new models.

Tables and chairs are fine and frankly I'll probably get more use from them than most of the stuff in the bundle.

It just left me flat is all. It's like getting socks and underwear for christmas. Useful, good to have, especially if you;re not paying for it...but not what you were hoping to find under the tree.

That's all I'm trying to say. If the fanboys want to shout me down and ignore what I'm actually saying, that's fine.

I totally understand what you are saying. I don't feel the same way you do but maybe for a reason you haven't thought of. What if they did what you suggested and moved the dungeon dressing thing to a lower reward level - then that would naturally displace other rewards to a higher bracket. In the end we could have lost out on something like the jabberwock and PF Iconics because they gave us the dungeon dressing stuff early. I wouldn't liek that at all. I am perfectly happy with seeing some of the 'fringe' stuff (zombie hunters, pirates, dungeon dressing) appearing now as it means we aren't missing out on getting PF Iconics or Chronoscope level of awesome.

I'd really hope people don't 'shout down' a (very slightly) negative comment about the Bones kickstarter. Even though I only joined up to the board a few days ago this place already feels more welcoming than any web board I have been on in the last 10 years.

We've worked really hard over the last, golly, 9 years now? to make it that way.

No wait. I was a member back in July 2002. HOLY HECK! The forum is over ten years old?!

Boy, time sure flies. We didn't even have a cake. Oh well. Maybe we'll have something when we do the Kickstarter party at Paint Club this Saturday.

I think you somewhat missed my point...I wasn't suggesting that they move it, it;s already there and shuffling them around at this stage would be silly at best. But let's not drag it back up again, I now understand the reasons behind their selections and at this stage I'm just happy to see more.

Fortunately the mods finally got involved so we're all good in the hood.

Like the townsfolk! One thing I'm surprised we haven't seen for the vampire level is a .... vampire. Or did I just miss it in the mass of minis!

Seconded...or thirded, I suppose.

I'm loving the henchman, very Nodwick. And the gravedigger is awesome. Imagine chopping that shovel out and subbing in a big sword or an axe, Or a honking great crossbow...swap out the lantern hand for an upraised holy symbol BAM vampire hunter.
