So... this would seem to indicate that Bryan is more patient than I am.

Bravo! Bravo! My hats off to you Dr. Bedlam. You are a true hero.

and I'll admit, I thought the same thing about Bryan. I don't know if I could shrug off comments like that.

I just registered after lurking for a few weeks and checking the Kickstarter several times a day over the past month.

And what I registered to say was that there hole at the bottom of the map with its green glowy glow sure looks a lot like an aboleth hole to me.

Wow, things are really accelerating. It was pure genious for reaper to put Pathfinder goals at the end when alot of $ is needed.

galahad - here's my worst experiences, and no, i'm not referring to any one person, but 3-4 PER CONVENTION I attend:

Guy asks for a Human Fighter with a Bow.

I present to him Mason thornwarden. Guy says "No, that says he's a ranger. I want a fighter with a bow"

The details change form person to person, but the story is the same.

"Fighter in plate, blister says paladin"

"Halfling, Blister says gnome"

"Human, Blister says half-elf"

.,

I find this hillarious. For a hobby based on imagination, some folks can show a distinct lack therof. It's sort of the RPG version of the wargamer attitude:

"I know it looks right, but it's not made by the same company so it can't be used in that game"

When I look for a figure the sculpt (style, size, etc) and price are the main considerations. Title, brand and game are very secondary.

But there's one thing missing from the list of bones minis:

Wolves.

Anything that could stand in for wolves, feral dogs, zombie wolves, or any other number of doggy menaces, which are a fairly good staple of a lot of RPG random traveling encounters.

There is literally nowhere (but Games Workshop, feh) that offers cheap 28mm wolves in a quantity large enough for a pack!

This is an excellent suggestion. Wolves are such a staple of fantasy/horror/etc, but no one makes cheap plastic wolf packs.

In this vein, except for rats and insect swarms, non-sentient animals of any kind seem to be missing from this kickstarter. I often play animal (sentient and non) warbands in SBH would love to see some animal figs in the kickstarter!

I see the problem as instead of saying I want a fighter with a bow. they should be saying I want a human male with plate armor or scale armor or etc. wielding a bow. Because a ranger is a fighter with a bow but they may be looking for different style armor.

In fairness to wargamers, that attitude is generally directly related to the No Proxies rules that other companies place on their official tournaments. GW is the worst - you can't even play pick-up games in their stores if you use proxies. It has to be official GW or nothing.

On top of that, some people who use proxies in wargames use them to facilitate cheating. It's a lot harder to know what your opponents army is capable of if he's using unofficial models as stand-ins for the official models, because you can't just look at the models and say "Oh yeah, that's a Flamer of Tzeentch, got to keep my unit out of range of its flame blast." You have to add in this whole second step where you remind yourself "Oh yeah, that Dwarven Bear Cavalry is actually a Khorne Bloodcrusher...or was it actually a Flesh Hound of Khorne?"

Swapping Sophie is great news! I'll take a Nethyrmaul instead!

But I do have 1 question Bryan: Will there be a way to add additional duplicates of some of the original 30 new Bones that started the KS? You could do it individually or group them by theme. Since we can get more of all the add-ons, it'd be strange if we couldn't get more of the original bunch...

There were some questions way back in the thread about painting on the Bones. I'm quite behind as I've been out of town for several days. While I was out of town I did a test of various surfaces (no primer, brush-on, spray, Dullcote) and painting on Bones figures, and then subjected the painted minis to handling and storage stressors to check for damage. I've posted the results of my tests in a post on the Show-Off forum in case it helps give anyone who's unsure about the Kickstarter more information to decide.

I have to ponder this swapping of sophie.... I don't know what will win out, a limited edition coolness factor thing that proves 'I was there, and did that', or $25 of more stuff to put on my gaming table... *ponders*

And I have the opposite problem as many of the lads here on this forum. I have my fiancee telling me "You spent $xxx on what?! That's furniture money." I guess this must mean I wear the pants in this relationship.

Nah, kidding. In any relationship where one is a spender... there needs to be a saver. As long as I stay within my budget, he can't say anything. ::P:

I just managed to successfully bathe a 20lb housecat without suffering a single scratch or bite. I can handle a dragon :P

We used this method with a cat, mostly Angora -

Fill the tub

Leave the bathroom door open

Get in the tub.

Wait until cat jumps into tub, going from big fluffy cat to purring wet skinny rat thing

Discover that every single bit of fur that floats off of the cat then sticks to you....

Seriously - the thing would hide in the bathroom while the tub was filling, then climb in when you were in the tub, purring like crazy. It just loved taking baths with people, even the shampoo. You'd still get scratches, but that was from it then trying to climb on your shoulders. Your naked wet slippery shoulders.

The cat was crazy! Sweet, but crazy.

The only cat that we ever had to keep out of the tub.

The Auld Grump, apropos of nothing, really....
