Kickstarter Discussion Thread

Only if she's got her

I just said '@#!& it, I don't know what I want yet, but $200 is my limit' and upped my pledge to $311 ($200 for me, $111 for my brother who wants vampire with extra chronoscope) I don;t know exactly what I'll spend it on yet, but with $125 to play with I can get some good stuff.

More questions for Bryan: 1) will you tell us how much the final total is *after* Reaper Pledge Manager Adjustments are in? (Maybe when you whip up that chart about how many of what was chosen?) 2) Does the chronoscope cyber ape have the optional weapon/hand pieces that the metal one does?

1) Probably not. Sales data is jealously guarded. I'll try to give rankings of which options were more popular, but actual numbers is probably not going ot happen.

Fair enough. A complete total would be interesting though, just to see how much people upped their pledge after the KS

2)The Bones version will not include options. he's got a gatling hand.

Bwaaaa! I suppose I'll just have to order the seconfd metal hand from the boneyard...I wanna make a Kriegsgaffen from Hellboy comics.

And Sophie on a T-Rex would in fact trump every mini we have ever made.

Only if a) the T-Rex is also a zombie, and b) Sophie has her arms wrapped around 'Larry Presden: Wizard for Rent'

Almost-naked-amazon Sophie armed with an AK-47, mounted on a -zombie- t-rex would make an excellent reapercon sophie

What can I say? I had an awesome childhood.

I think the hands belong to Kit, personally.

Yep, and the guest hands in this latest one belong to Adrienne (Ron's wife for those of you who haven't met her yet).

I really can't see myself using any of the minis from the chronoscope bones range, so;

1) Will we get the option of exchanging those for credit like we'll be able to do with sophie in the near future?

2) When will you acquire our shipping information?

I'm almost at the point now where I can just drop all the +1 extras of freebies I want, and the sophie, and get a dual vampire for the same price I'm paying now. A few more goals and I'll pretty much have to.

1) No, as has been stated numerous times, the last official one just a few replies up from yours

2) When the KS ends and you get the survey I'm guessing.

Numerous times? really? because I've been here for five (sorry, it's actually been twelve) pages and I've seen absolutely no mention of not being able to do it, in this thread, in the updates, in the drop-down FAQs OR in the videos.

And Maayybe you should read the context of the post before citing it to answer my question.

Love the fact that we're getting 4 new sculpts at the swamp stretch goal! Keep the new stuff coming. I know the lizards and hydra will make many backers happy!

Didn't think we were still going to be getting to see another goal yet. Nice I was wrong, love that we are getting lizardmen. The Hydra is sweet as well though I think I'll have to pass on it.

No. No swapping of other minis, just Sophie, and only because she's the only metal offering.

This is a package deal, and if we start allowing all 7,000 backers 100% customizability, we might as well just tear up the Vampire package and post a per price on everything, buffet style.

You shouldn't ascribe 'tone of voice' to web forums - it is a notoriously slippery slope and I've seen a 1000 flamewars erupt because of it.

Anyways it looks like Reaperbryan did indeed answer the question - no swapping of anything except the metal Sophie.

HAIL HYDRA!!!

(Next goal: Chronoscope superheroes, so I can call out "Avengers Assemble." Please?)

And one of those Lizardfolk looks like I'll FINALLY be able to paint up a reasonable mini for one of my favorite old PCs. I'll still have to swap out a spear for a bow, but that's easy. The Reptus have never looked svelte enough.

The Hydra should have been obvious to me. It's a huge, incredible model, now affordable in Bones.

It's also one of the few models in this whole sh'bang I've not got already in metal.

I keep telling myself, I just shouldn't look until Saturday.

But then I keep peaking... maybe no more looking for today... we'll see if that actually holds.

Hello Reaper friends!  You might remember I did a whole tribe of Hill Giants on a display board, with hex bases?

This is my follow up to that, this time: Stone Giants.

Errrm, it all got a bit out of hand, and I'd LOVE some input from you all, please

This is where I'm at after a week and I'm a bit stuck tbh.

I think I need to decide more about what the "finish" will look like before I go a lot further. Once I cover that foam with more than paint it's going to be harder to make changes. I'm thinking of sort of "cladding" it in pieces of slate, with sculpted  bits / groundwork in the gaps?

I'd also love to hear suggestions for other miniatures and features to add to the scene to break up those big open rocky spaces. Current extra bits and bobs are just there for a sense of scale and how extra minis might "interrupt" or "enhance" the scene.

      Some next steps though:
      - cork around the hexes on the platforms for the bases to fit into
      - some sort of "door frame"
      - "box in" the sides (which are cut out of a continuing mountainside, in my head at least)

Please, rain your ideas and encouragements upon me!

      Help! I'm hating this paintjob.

I grabbed this demilich thinking it'd be a fun and easy paintjob. But everything I do makes me hate it more.

I was trying to go for a green flame look, so yellow on the inside, and gradually darker green highlights on the outside. These were drybrushed and then cleaned up by hand. I think this is where the problem started because it's not reading as fire. It just looks like a blobby mess?

Should I just scrap it and start over with more of an ethereal glow that's darker in the middle and lighter on the edges?

I also am not happy with the base. I've never painted a 2D base before, I've always added some kind of texturing material. And although I'm reasonably satisfied with how the base looks on the summoning circle behind the demilich, it looks so bad on the demilich base. And I think my green glow isn't helping.

And finally the Bones. I imagined that if there was a green light behind the Bones then they'd be tinted green and darker on the outside. Again .. this just doesn't look right.

I'm normally fairly confident in my painting abilities, but I think I've landed in unfamiliar territory and I'm just not sure how to salvage or proceed. What can I do?

NOTE: You can choose one demo monster ( skull or abberattion) I chose a batwinged skull and added horns to try it.

      This is my filthy first.

I finally gave in and purchased one of the Bones figures. It is the otyugh-ish filth beast by Bob Ridolfi.

It is a big change from the metal minis I usually purchase. The material is way bendy, almost like a green Gumby toy.

The coolest thing is the way it is baka yoke, and all the pieces are "keyed" to a hole. I would have to try really hard to mess up the assembly on this one!

First time showing something off on the forums! Normally only post to my instagram @MoonglowMinis

Had a blast painting this one up! Had to tap into my painterly side to get the glow effect I wanted and to transition the plating down to the end of the tail where there was no sculpted detail.

      Hope you all like it!
