Ok got the email regarding those paints. How many of them are new custom colors? I see the black is in the first one & is part of the original MSP line up but that 2nd bunch is defiently new. Just not up on my paint names. (heck still need to go after the Heavy Gear paints ha ha).

thanks!

Paint Set #1 consists of current MSP colors.

Paint Set #2 was made specially for the kickstarter and is 12 'new' colors.

we've reached the 155k goal but it won't show us anything about the msp paint set reward! WTF!? :O

That's because someone has to manually make all the changes.

It takes me about 25 minutes to update all of the text and graphics that need modifications. the Update Tab I can pre-type and just hit "Publish", but the front page where the Cemetery is, I have to make each graphical and textual change one-at-a-time, save, next change, etc. It's not as automated as it could be, but it's getting the job done.

Not too sure. Perhaps Wren or one of the other awesome painters on the forum can shed some light on this.

Maybe Anne has done a case study on this already!

Let me take a moment away from running around flapping my hands chanting 'new paint, new paint'... :->

I have not had as much of a chance to play with painting the Bones as I need to, Jubilee is the much better authority for this. I will have to see if I can find time to dig up my test kobold or run out to the store and grab a Bones to test with before Gen Con.

I have noticed that most of the people who've grumbled a little about getting that first coat of paint on were people who had painted them in speed painting rounds. That is a time pressure situation and anything that adds (or feels like it adds) time on is going to feel like an issue.

I have what is likely to be a really dumb question, and I'm sorry in advance but I've been on hiatus for 3 months with a new job.

If I increase my vampire pledge I can opt into some fire giants, frost giants, and ebonwrath. How does reaper know that I'm opting into which of those specific options? Will someone ask me later, or is that something I let them know when I increase my pledge.

I feel like I'm in a state of zen-like calm. I'm not even breaking Bryan's stones!!

I've never bought much less painted one of these Bones models. I'm just going with the flow.

I'm thinking this is good for the kids just getting into the hobby of painting models and gaming with them. I'm currently assembling some Chainmail Gnolls for Warlord that I got on the cheap on ebay years ago. There's a lot of coin I would have to spend on the metal now, and the newcomers can jump in and get a whole Warlord force.

When you boil it all down, I don't care if someone's force is metal, plastic, or papier mache.

Not that it will prevent me from pledging for the new custom undead colors if they don't, but I wonder if these paints will ship in the snazzy lunchboxes-with-foam that BYO-paint-sets come in?

And that basic set may well get a few of my friends in on this. A lot of new painters I'm telling about this!

At this time, no. They are currently being offered only as 2 sets of 12 bottles.

Still a fantastic deal. MSRP for one bottle is $3.29 so at $1.50 a bottle is better than half off. Some time ago I looked into buying the .5 oz plastic dropper bottles in bulk. They are not as cheap as you would expect. Add in the paint base, flow aditives, pigment, and label. Now shipping too.... It's a great deal. 12 bottles of MSP. The custom bone triad looks like awesome colors. If it looks like they won't be a permenant addition to the MSP line I may need to make the drive to Denton and stea... I mean pursuade them to sell me some left overs..

The only bad thing about the kickstarter exclusive paints is I am gonna need more at some point. Then i will be forced to wait until the next time Reaper decides to revolutionize the miniatures hobby to get more.
