Kickstarter Discussion Thread

IIRC, They posted on the KS that the new colors would be released around the time the rewards are shipped.

EDIT: Just double checked. The second set are not KS exclusive. They are being formulated for the KS and will be released after they are shipped to supporters.

So buy them now at half off or buy them later retail.

But please buy them now. I want more grave robbery.

:zombie:

Correct - they were designed for Kickstarter, but are not stated anywhere as exclusive to Kickstarters. After we ship them to backers, they will be relesed for retail, precisely so that you can resupply those colors.

Well then i will be adding another 18 dollars to my pledge.

I want to see the figure finder app as a reward so long as it's android friendly. If it's apple only I don't care

I can categorically state that this is not a reward for this KS drive.

At this time, no. They are currently being offered only as 2 sets of 12 bottles.

You know I'm really hoping that "at this time" means "but a later stretch goal will add a box with X more colours" for the Starter Set. Right now the starter set lacks either greys suitable for NMM steel or lacks metalics to make painting metal on minis easy. It gives me another thought for that odd looking tomb stone in 5 stretch goals time. A paint box with a silver, a gold, the 3 washes and maybe a paint brush - bam a complete "Starter Set" of paints.

I apologize if this has been discussed previously, but how does the DYOM process work? Would I give a general idea to Reaper and that is it? Are we able to select the concept artist and/or the sculptor (within the stable of Reaper team members). Do we get a copy of the concept art and mini with this level? Are we able to communicate with the artists for tweaking the process? As someone had mentioned above, this could be a unique gift for Mrs. Jabber. The 5 year anniversary is coming up...

Thank you!

This would be very cool. Right now, my vampirism comes with a definite appetite for braiiins (pink), even without the case. If there's another MSP reward later on I hope it can add the case, but this is all pretty satisfying already. You know, more or less.

My biggest question about the basic paints option: no Walnut Brown? Best color ever.

As someone that has been through the DYOM process twice now, I can share my experiences with you. The first time I did a DYOM (3370 in the DHL line, 65029 in P-65), I knew what I wanted so badly that I already had concept art to hand to Reaper. From there, they had original concept art done (the creature is my IP, but the art I'd had done to that point was not for commercial purposes), and sent it off to the sculptor. When the miniature was finished and put into production, I got a copy of the concept art Reaper had done, as well as 6 copies of my figure (I bought a whole lot more after that :;):).

My second DYOM was not something I had concept art for, which is just as well, as that specific DYOM included concept art done by Wayne Reynolds. This one is still in progress (50287 in the Chronoscope line), but I did already get a photocopy of the art from Ron at ReaperCon this past year. Once it is finished, I will again receive my copies of the figure.

I would expect that Reaper will use the same basic process for DYOMs awarded through kickstarter pledges.

EDIT: Both times I was permitted to request a specific sculptor, but it was not guaranteed. The first time Reaper ended up going with someone else (Jason was my first choice for that one); Bobby was my first choice for the second one, and nearly mugged Ron to be the one to do it after I showed him the concept art. :;):

The biggest differenct between Vince's experiences and the one offered via Kickstarter is the Kickstarter DYOM includes 20 copies of the figure instead of 6. We will work as closely with you, the concept artist, and the sculptor as you can stand to help make your vision a reality!

Really wish I could afford that level....
